Interesting document.

For those who haven't read it, here's one part regarding I130s:

Forms I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) have experienced processing delays for several years, following a policy to hold preference-based petitions and process them based on visa availability. In last year's annual report, the Ombudsman discussed the backlog of approximately 1.1 million pending I-130s. In March 2009, USCIS began sending pending I-130s to field offices with available staff to perform adjudications. By December 31, 2009, USCIS reduced its I-130 inventory to 690,000 of which 575,000 were preference petitions. The agency expects to adjudicate an additional 750,000 new and pending I-130 preference petitions by December 31, 2010.

Now to find the definition of a "preference petition."

spouses are given preference over sibling petitions, not sure if that's what is meant

We should all plan a mass call-in for one of the days in this week. Tuesday or weds.

DDoS attack might not be a good idea on a govt agency (not sure what it's caled when you do a planned overload attack of the phone system :P but probably NOT good idea)

Edited by nab

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

Gooooooood morning from Miami, Florida VJ Fam B-)

Here's to another week of mass approvals!!

Good MORNING MIAMI!!

It's cold in the UK, and I want to come BACK to Orlando!!

This week, will be a pivotal week!

With regard to the theory that over-calling USCIS results in delays is interesting. Our lawyer also advised against calling (you have to wonder why?).

We could all individually analyse this by checking the approvals spreadsheet.

I don't mean to rub it in, but it's going to be 74 and mostly sunny today B-) -Yet one more reason I'm hoping you get to cross the pond sooner rather than later

About the over-calling thing- I've heard elsewhere as well that we may need to be judicious. I've scheduled a teleconference with an active immigration attorney this evening, I'll ask him if he's heard anything about our CSC-TSC batch.

I'm also going to contact a Congressman today and see if his office can help.

Wishing for the best for all of us :)

Let's hope we have some good news this week. I received a response to a TSC service request that stated the following:

"Your petition is being held for further review, therefore the processing time will be longer. Please check on the status of your petition after 180 days if a decision has not been made before then."

That was a few weeks ago. Anyone have a similar response? What does it mean, if anything?

Yes, our senator had that response, and I believe many others have had it too. I think it's just another email that says "Hey, we're behind, we need more time".
