how many of the 36,000 are REGISTERED VOTING REPUBLICANS????

I'm a registered Democrat. Peace loving, gay supporting, pot smoking hippy from California. (being a little facetious as I don't vote because I believe all government is corrupt) ANYWAY. I think you may be reaching a little for an answer to the "why me?" question we're all asking ourselves. I have a feeling that there is no sound reason to this and that our situation is a prime example of bureaucratic inefficiency.

I DO worry that aggressive harrasment will put us to the bottom of the pile. Like it or not, it happens. To be honest when I was younger, in the office I worked in, I am sad to say I have done it. I was always a lot more empathetic to the less pushy type of enquiry. Who knows what goes on there. We WILL get approved. The weekend stresses us, but we should remain positive and hopeful. Things WILL happen this week!

I think Val and Gary is right.Let's stay positive,I really think, all of us July-August filers will be approved in a couple of weeks.Just because we don't see any touches does not mean they are not doing anything. They promised us 5-6 months and I really think they will do it.All of us will be APPROVED!!!VERY SOON!!!

one person had said look for similarities and there's nothing in geography (beneficiary's and petitioners spread all over) ... but i am 3rd tree hugger  not a pot smoker but green pharmacy/home remedies, make my own cleansers, raise our own chickens and fresh eggs and so on....

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

I decided to reply to the follow-up email I received from Officer Garza on Thursday, and added a few more recipients as well.

TSC.Ncscfollowup@dhs.gov, uscis.internalcommunications@dhs.gov, ja-nel.james@dhs.gov, Natalie.Lui@dhs.gov, Tom.Paar@dhs.gov, USCIS.C2@dhs.gov, Yvette.M.Lagonterie@dhs.gov, Meddie.Brown@dhs.gov, Chris.Rhatigan@dhs.gov, Bill.Wright@dhs.gov, cisombudsman@dhs.gov, nbernstein@nytimes.com, ccarcamo@ocregister.com

Thank you Officer Garza.

May I have the name and contact information of a Supervisor or Manager that is in charge of all the I-130's that were transferred from the California Service Center?

According to two USCIS CSR's that I spoke with almost 2 months ago, my wife's I-130 was already with an Adjudicator, but as I stated in my previous e-mail, all other phone communications I have had with USCIS CSR's, all the "explanations" were quite different. What could the disconnect be within USCIS?

This link shows one of the breathing treatments that my son has to endure due to being hospitalized with pneumonia and bronchitis on multiple occasions, the purpose of my expedite request that was approved November 8, 2010, 76 days as of this e-mail.

I appreciate you immediate attention in this matter.

Everytime we call the first thing they say is

"5 months is just a guideline ma'am."

And has anyone realized how much they say "Sorry for the wait m'am it'll be just another second." lol.

Anyway I'm happy it's Monday! Hoping for an approval not expecting anything.

If you haven't read Eckhart Tolle's A New Earth I recommend it. It'll make you feel better.

I took a wild guess at Nina Bernstein email address and just got an out of office reply:

I am out of the office until June, 2011, and will be based in Paris, on a leave of absence, until then. Though I will be checking my email from time to time, for Metro immigration coverage, please contact Sam Dolnick, at sam.dolnick@nytimes.com, or Kirk Semple at semplek@nytimes.com, or call the Metro desk at 212 556-1533.

For national immigration coverage, contact Julia Preston at juliapreston@nytimes.com

Au revoir!

Some more sources we can contact.

------------------------------------------------------------

Also got an out of office for William G. Wright, he was in the huge list I posted a day or two ago.

On travel; however, I'm checking messages. You can also reach me via cell at (202) 412-5047.

Regards,

Bill

So I finally had time to email tsc.ncscfollowup@dhs.gov.

Almost immediately I receive an automated reply from the same email address stating the following:

Thank you for contacting the Texas Service Center National Customer Service Center (NCSC) Follow Up e-mail account. The purpose of this account is to assist petitioners, applicants or their authorized representatives who have contacted the NCSC number (1-800-375-5283) with an inquiry but feel their inquiry was not adequately addressed within 30 days or who feel that the response received from the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) was not sufficient. This auto reply message will serve as a record of our receiving your inquiry. The
TSC
NCSC Follow Up e-mail account will try to be responsive to all requests. However, please note that you will not receive a response to your inquiry if you did not first try to resolve your issue by contacting the NCSC, or if you are not the petitioner, applicant or a designated representative of the case you are inquiring about.

If you are asking for a status update you must contact the NCSC. We will not respond to your status update inquiry.

In order to assist you in a timely manner, please include the following information with your inquiry (Send a follow-up email including this information if it was not included in your first request to this e-mailbox):

  • The service request management tool (SRMT) inquiry number that you were given when you called the NCSC,

    • If you have called the NCSC and they informed you they are unable to complete a SRMT please provide a brief explanation.

[*]The date that you contacted the NCSC,

[*]Your name and receipt number and/or A-number, and

[*]If available, the name of the NCSC Customer Service Representative you spoke with.

The Texas Service Center will review your e-mail and respond through this e-mail account or through the US Postal Service.

If you feel the decision on your case was made in error, to protect your rights you must follow the regulations and file any necessary motion or appeal within the allotted timeframe.

I'm sure this has been posted before, and perhaps I missed it because I'm quite tired at the moment, but if someone can tell me, what in the world is a service request management tool (SRMT) inquiry number?

My petition had been expedited by a Tier 2 Officer- however I hadn't been given any SRMT inquiry number.

Any thoughts?

Service Request Management Tool (SRMT) online for Forms I-90 and N-400

  • Currently customers contact the 1-800 number to make a service request, which is then sent via SRMT to the Field Office or Service Center
  • Enhancement will allow customers and representatives the opportunity to use SRMT directly to submit a request directly to the Field Office or Service Center responsible for the case without calling the 1-800 number
  • Will be accessible through www.uscis.gov
  • This service will be piloted for customers whose case is Outside Normal Processing Times for the Forms I-90 and N-400
  • We plan to offer this online service for all form types currently handled by the call centers

Service Request Management Tool (SRMT): When an application or petition is outside of target processing times, a petitioner may contact the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) to request an inquiry into his or her case (SRMT). Given the USCIS goal to adjudicate O and P nonimmigrant petitions within 14 days, USCIS has taken steps to ensure the NCSC generates an SRMT when an O and P nonimmigrant petition has been pending for over 14 days. It should be noted that for e-filed cases, the processing time does not begin until the supporting documentation is received at the service center. This information was added to the “Instructions for electronically Filing Form I-129”.

I suppose this means I have to phone our friends and ask for the SRMT number. I'm prepping myself I'll be told- "I'm sorry sir, but it shows there was no service request placed- you must have misunderstood."

Interesting document.

For those who haven't read it, here's one part regarding I130s:

Forms I-130 (Petition for Alien Relative) have experienced processing delays for several years, following a policy to hold preference-based petitions and process them based on visa availability. In last year’s annual report, the Ombudsman discussed the backlog of approximately 1.1 million pending I-130s. In March 2009, USCIS began sending pending I-130s to field offices with available staff to perform adjudications. By December 31, 2009, USCIS reduced its I-130 inventory to 690,000 of which 575,000 were preference petitions. The agency expects to adjudicate an additional 750,000 new and pending I-130 preference petitions by December 31, 2010.

Now to find the definition of a "preference petition."
