How long does it usually take for senator to response?

I sent a latter to senator on 12/27/2010, still did not get anything back.

I sent emails to my Congressman and Senator McConnell while in Manila around December 15th when it appeared that those of us who had been transferred to TSC seemed to have been swept aside by CSC. I had given up on a response but then received letters from both this past week. I sent in a release form to my Rep. today. I emphasized the TSC transfer fiasco and that processing is not happening in a fair, timely or professional manner.

A few cases have been reported to petitioners by our friends at TSC as being under EXTENDED REVIEW. I did some searching, and hope the following may be of help.

What is an "Extended Review?"

When people call service centers directly (see how here), they are sometimes told that their cases are under "extended review" or "additional review." We have not been able to obtain a clear definition from the USCIS regarding exactly what constitute an extended review, but here are three theories:

1. "Extended review" means "under review." It is a term loosely used by some representatives and could be anything, security checks, officer review, or in another word, just normal processing.

2. "Extended review" means "final review." It is referring to the final stage of the processing after security checks have been cleared and the case is ready to be adjudicated.

3. "Extended review" means "external review." It means USCIS is awaiting information from another government agency.

Before USCIS cares to offer an official explanation, we tend to believe theory #1 is the case.

I take COURIER service to mean specialised, signed for delivery by companies such as FEDEX or UPS.

i was told #2 option and that it would be 2 weeks

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

NVC:

2/25/11 - received case number, IIN, and gave e-mail IDs.

2/25/11 - Send DS-3032 E-mail

2/28/11 - I-864 (AOS) bill invoiced and paid

3/01/11 - AOS payment status "PAID"

3/02/11 - DS-3032 : Email accepted

3/04/11 - IV bill invoiced (e-mail at 2:30 AM) and paid

3/07/11 - IV payment status "PAID"

3/08/11 - AOS and IV packet sent

3/22/11 - AOS in the system and reviewed that triggered false RFE for IV packet

3/28/11 - DS-230 in the system and SIF

3/29/11 - Case Completed at NVC

4/13/11 - Interview date assigned

5/17/11 - Interview- Approved

5/18/11 - Passport & Visa Picked up from VFS Delhi

5/31/11 - POE (JFK)

Sounds to me as if all us July filers HAVE been requested for EXAMINATION/PROCESSING.

We were told exactly the same other than our date was the 28th December.

Yes! January 17, 2011 (Monday): Martin Luther King Day and February 21, 2011 (Monday): Presidents Day are both Federal Holidays, so all Government Employees will have those days off. :yes:

Glad to hear that DanTes. I DO think TSC have had some "training", and I hope that things get moving for you, and all of us now. More evidence is in the last few approvals - the emails/texts were sent correctly, with the same correct template.

The frustrating thing is, the holiday today. I feel so much better when I know things can happen "any time".
