First I'm going to research FOIA. Then I'm going to ask them for their records of cases approved NOA1 and NOA2 dates from CSC and TSC under Freedom of Information Act. They have the trend data on their website, but I'll ask for more detail. Then I'll have proof that they fumbled the whole thing are processing our applications in reverse order.

Stop complaining and do something, then.

you think my letter was an automated reply? You guys all got letters after your service requests that said specifically " your case needs additional review and if you havent heard anything or received a Notice of Action in 9-12 months from this letter, please call"

Im thinking that something triggered in depth background checks...I sure hope this is a generic letter.

unless there is something specific in your past you know about that we dont, i would not worry about background check. if you know its clean then what is the worry of a 'more in depth' one.

Exactly. I think they are trying to get breathing space to get this work done. Service requests and complaints must be slowing their procedure down. They want us off their backs so they can work. I don't know whether to BLAME TSC, or feel sorry for them. One things for sure, the person or body who THOUGHT of this transfer needs a severe shake down! headbonk.gif

I agree, but anger is not doing us any good. We need to be putting those emotions into action. We've certainly been pro-active this week, and I am sure you have.

The system IS broken, and it is in need of severe overhaul.

i absolutely disagree with you on the bolded statement. in this type of field, the people processing the paperwork, and the people answering phones, NOT same people. i DO agree they want us off their backs.... sorry, NOT gonna happen. I'm pissed off and someone needs to provide answers because i know at this stage the people who will come behind will have a better journey than i had if i can do anything about it.

Again i disagree on the anger not doing us any good, anger sets a fire under people and puts them into ACTION.... and it KEEPS them going.

as for the person who thought of the transfer, they will be hero in CSC and TSC because they have made both look good. seriously, look at processing times. the july filers and only a handful of june filers got burnt. everyone else got on time or even MUCH more fast processing.... none of them are complaining.

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

HEY I AGREE WITH YOU!! The paragraph above is from THEIR perspective as to why they want us out of the way!!

ANger is good only if it is utilised into action though! And I agree about the processing times. It's June/July that is sacrificed for the sake of the masses. Easier to quell 2 months at one center than to quell 6 months of anger at TWO centers!

Val just booked an INFOPASS appointment on Januaryy 27th at our local USCIS office.

Has anyone any experience of these and whether they do any good? We're over 45 days on our approved expedite SR which is one of the conditions of appointment.

Hopefully, we'll be approved before then....

I am going to be sending it international express so I assume I use the "courier service" rather than "regular mail" address, correct? Seems to make sense, just double checking.

on the form it says

" Due to security concerns, mail is screened prior to being forwarded to our office. Please allow up to 14 days from the mailing date until our office receives your case problem. We confirm in writing the receipt of each case problem received within two to four business days."

hmmm wonder if thats because they've peeved so many people off

Ive heard indifferent reports about them, similar to the experience some folk get on the phone with the csr at uscis. In all, it benefits some, and is a waste of time for others, but anything is worth a try.

A few cases have been reported to petitioners by our friends at TSC as being under EXTENDED REVIEW. I did some searching, and hope the following may be of help.

What is an "Extended Review?"

When people call service centers directly (see how here), they are sometimes told that their cases are under "extended review" or "additional review." We have not been able to obtain a clear definition from the USCIS regarding exactly what constitute an extended review, but here are three theories:

1. "Extended review" means "under review." It is a term loosely used by some representatives and could be anything, security checks, officer review, or in another word, just normal processing.

2. "Extended review" means "final review." It is referring to the final stage of the processing after security checks have been cleared and the case is ready to be adjudicated.

3. "Extended review" means "external review." It means USCIS is awaiting information from another government agency.

Before USCIS cares to offer an official explanation, we tend to believe theory #1 is the case.

anyone know if courier service means express mail?

I take COURIER service to mean specialised, signed for delivery by companies such as FEDEX or UPS.

Is it confirmed that USCIS & NVC are on public holiday this coming Monday?

This is announcement from 2009

USCIS Offices in Washington, D.C. to Close for Two Federal Holidays

WASHINGTON—U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) headquarters, field offices, asylum offices, and Application Support Centers (ASCs) in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area will be closed January 17 through January 20, 2009 for two federal holidays.

On Monday, January 19, all USCIS offices will be closed to observe the birthday of Martin Luther King, Jr. Because the federal holiday is on a Monday, all ASCs will also be closed on Saturday, January 17.

In addition, all USCIS offices in the District of Columbia, Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland, Arlington and Fairfax Counties in Virginia, and the cities of Alexandria and Falls Church in Virginia will be closed for the presidential inauguration on January 20.

The following offices will be closed on Saturday, January 17 through Tuesday, January 20, 2009:

USCIS headquarters, Washington, D.C.

Application Support Center, Glenmont, Md.

Arlington Asylum Office, Arlington, Va.

Application Support Center, Alexandria, Va.

Washington Field Office, Fairfax, Va.
