I'm not the one to keep smiling. You know that the average time between NOA2 and Interview is 180 days? I know that when I receive the NOA2 somehow I'll be even more angry than before. Right now I am just just running on anger. I don't think we should sit here eat ####### and smile, I feel like we should be taking action beyond just writing letters. We are the ones who get affected, not USCIS, not the Senators or even the President. Nobody is going to make it better for us. We have to find a way to do that ourselves. Do we need 3 separate government organizations in order to give a person permission to enter the country (USCIS, NVC, and Consulate)? The system is broken and people need to be made aware of that. When I tell people it takes around 1 year to move a spouse of a US citizen they are shocked, but they go right on eating their lunches because it does not affect them directly. We're being punished for following the rules, to me it is akin to putting an innocent person in prison. There is no oversight on USCIS and their needs to be.

There actually is, its called the Ombudsman, and they are there to monitor and make sure things are done correctly. Maybe we arent aware of how well they work because this is the first time for most that they will have got in touch with this body. If you dont get in touch with their governing body re your case, although ethically you should be automatically moving, its just not the case, hence the proactivity.

If you dont stand up to be counted you'll not have a voice thats heard.

I am out of the country, so mailing a letter to Ombudsman would be pointless as it would take weeks. In your opinion, would an email be effective and would they actually take the time to read it?

will be calling again on Monday, and will let you all know what happened. How do they expect someone to wait 9-12 months after waiting 6 and a half months?? Good joke USCIS!!! You wait for a year and a half without your wife/husband and get back to me (without pay, this isnt the military)...let me know how that worked out for you! Please don't call me before your timeframe is up.

I have crazy idea that some officer there just messed you with LPR. They had huge retrogression for that type of visa , so LPR still have to wait years and 9 monthes doesnt make deal in that cases. What is about sending complains as USCIS misconduct with copy of your response?

This way is more formal and more effective IMO. You make sure that you fill out everything correctly and nobody can come back to you saying they did not have all the information. They are obligated to respond to you this way, less so if you wrote email and they could say you left something out.

hes saying they may have thought I was a legal permanent resident, which isnt true...I think it is more that they are just sending generic mail out to everyone who does a service request. I am going to mail the Ombudsman express mail here from Colombia..hope that it works.

I am going to be sending it international express so I assume I use the "courier service" rather than "regular mail" address, correct? Seems to make sense, just double checking.

I sent that letter out about a week ago to the ombudsman nothing back yet. Wonder how long it takes to get back a reply.

on the form it says

" Due to security concerns, mail is screened prior to being forwarded to our office. Please allow up to 14 days from the mailing date until our office receives your case problem. We confirm in writing the receipt of each case problem received within two to four business days."

Ah so next week sometime should be getting a confirm notice. Wife will be here by then so that's a big yay haven't seen her in 7 months were probably gonna miss our anniversary =/ but man I'm just glad we could get her out of her town for awhile after it got wiped out by that flash flood. Finding dead bodies in your neighborhood is a real downer and it seems like they keep finding more every day she said. She is from Toowoomba Australia by the way if anyone has been following the news from there lately.

I have an email address that you can use to complain about a USCIS staff member. If there is a name on the letter, then email. Hell, I'd email if there IS no name!!

USCIS Ombudsman Liaison

The USCIS Ombudsman Liaison Unit (OLU) is responsible for managing the flow of information between USCIS and the Ombudsman's Office. The OLU responds to questions posed by the Ombudsman's Office, coordinates and prepares responses to the Ombudsman's formal recommendations and annual reports, and facilitates the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that USCIS customers receive the best possible service.

To help improve customer service, we seek feedback from our customers, stakeholders, and affiliated agencies to help identify issues that directly affect you. Email the Ombudsman Liaison Unit at OLUInquiries@dhs.gov. Please explain your concern, question, or suggestion as clearly as possible. Regrettably, we cannot post any inquiries online if they have case-specific or personal information in them.

Report USCIS Employee Misconduct

Anyone with knowledge or suspicion of criminal violations, misconduct, wasteful activities or allegations of civil rights or civil liberties abuse by a USCIS employee should report specific information such as date, time and location of the incident, the specific nature of the alleged misconduct, and the name(s) of employee(s) involved, to the DHS Office of the Inspector General (OIG) by any of the following ways:

I just think they have no clue what they are doing at TSC, and keep getting templates wrong for stuff.
