a service request because my case was past the processing time...it was about 6 months at the time I put in the request. They expect me to wait another 9-12 months? I have terrible luck.

Maybe a lawyer could help you. Seems that is our last option.

Just an aside, I'll tell you about terrible luck. Halfway through my honeymoon the SD card in my digital camera crapped out and I lost all my photos. When I got home I sent it to a lab to recover them. Then UPS lost the package! Now this.

yeah, my life just basically went to ####### once I heard that. There is no way I am going to continue to wait...guess its a sign that I should stop. Also, cant do direct consular filing because I wasnt in the country for 6 continuous months ( I was in for 5, now am in for another)... I am just doomed altogether and completely devastated. Good luck to all of you, I hope you all get your approvals very soon.

There is no way it will take that long. We all have hope and dreams waiting for us. Just hang in there. It will get done sooner.

I have never posted here but have actively browsed this site and especially this thread...I too was transferred to texas on november 2, 2010 and had started in california with me mailing it on august 6, 2010.I became frustrated like many here and was beginning to lose hope and faith in this bureaucratic bullshit, so I mailed my congresswoman and her aide wrote them and received this email and got this response:

Dear Mr. ,

Our office received below response from the Texas Service Center. I hope this information helps you. Thank you

Mr. ‘s I-130 petition, WACxxxxxxxxxx, xxxxxxxxx- will be requested to be worked ASAP. Please allow 45-60 days to receive a decision or other notice of action.

Thank you for your inquiry and please do not hesitate to contact us again if you have further questions regarding this case.

(Congressional only) Congressional Liaison | Texas Service Center (TSC)| USCIS | DHS |

so ASAP did work because two days later I received approval. noa2 date of jan.13, 2011:

On January 13, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283

HANG IN THERE EVERYONE..it gets better.especially when today is my birthday and I found it this morning.

Congrats!

Please don't go. We are all in this together. We all need support until the last one is approved. We are the "TSC Misfits".

have you ever seen that graphic of santa clause sitting on the top of a chimney with his pants down, with the text (paraphrasing) "ever get the feeling you were bad?"

or heard the phrase: some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue...

on my darkest days i had evil visions but xelance, dont withdraw the petition... find an alternative lifestyle in case it truly does last another 9-12 months. my husband and i are dealing with many things you wouldnt even imagine, and we're hanging in there. it just got even worse about 8 days ago, but amazingly we pulled ourselves together a couple days ago and got strong and said ok we're gonna face this as well. my hand to God, because of all the crying I have done in the past year it looks like I have aged at least 10yrs, and he has gotten beaten down looking too but to me he looks even more beautiful. i love that man so much he will never find anyone in his whole life who will ever love him so!

so dont give up. just dont.

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

DCF is ALWAYS faster, it is not a belief. You do not deal with USCIS and NVC so how can it not be faster??? People in Colombia are approved in 2-3 months.

Yes DCF is much faster but only if you have the funds.you have to show 5 times more than powerty line for two people, which is around 90.000$,that could be cash or property.

our NOA1s are close so we will get our NOA2s about same time... i dont believe the 9-12months if it is just for the standard processing thing. when you call the automated line they say 180 days but they're just doing that in hopes of discouraging people into giving up. i hope you're not going to do that.

Ignore it. They are just trying to put us off calling. We've had all sorts of weird stuff happening, and so did Skynaut and rpratt - BUT THEY ARE approved!

Never give up - it's total BS that they are telling you. Your time will come, and it will be a lot quicker than you think.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON.
