Hopefully, we got service request response in the beginning of december that our case required additional review (what is this??) and I am worried is it something wrong with our case or is it common.

I'm beginning to think that they just plain don't like us July filers. Or maybe because we were the ones that by now files so many SRs and got so many Senators involved that they decided to teach us a lesson? Seems like those approved so far were just on the border but not yet out of processing time. Maybe that has something to do with it as well. They are now doing damage control to prevent more SR and inquiries which probably count against their performance measures as a department.

Hopefully, we got service request response in the beginning of december that our case required additional review (what is this??) and I am worried is it something wrong with our case or is it common.

I did my SR on Dec 7th and I got same letter:

"Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not recieve a decision or other notice of action from us within 7-9 months of this letter, please call customer service at the number provided below."

I think this was jsut a delay letter as I havent gotten a RFE or anything, but the 7-9 month thing was a heart breaker.....

There is really no excuse for that kind of response. Its just misinformation and its extremely insensitive of TSC and is f*ing frustrating me. There is nothing that should take 9 months for them to resolve. They need to get their act together, their carelessness is making an already difficult situation unbearable. Imagine 95% of the filers who are not 1/10 as informed as we are getting something like that.

Senator's Reply:

Through contacting the Texas Service Center, I have learned that your file was received at their center on 11/30/10. Your file is currently with an officer which is positive.

Unfortunately, in addition to your petition, the Center received a total of 35,000 transferred cases. They expected time for adjudication of these cases is currently 60-90 days.

Once your file is received at the National Visa Center, the processing will move more quickly.

I hope that our office has been of assistance.

Write back to the senator, attach the copy of your NOA1 and explain that it has been more than 5 months and that TSC provided misleading information! That should help!

That was all in my cover letter along with a copy of NOA1, which I faxed this morning BTW. Basically, the situation is TSC is now swamped. Not sure why it took 27 days for my case to get to CSC to TSC after I got the transfer notice. Probably what happened was USCIS put us on the back burner they call TSC because CSC had more profitable and urgent business visas to process, which they would get a lot more flak about if they are not done on time. Money talks and BS walks.

Write back to the senator, attach the copy of your NOA1 and explain that it has been more than 5 months and that TSC provided misleading information! That should help!
