Got it. Our mistake - the number is correct.

Maybe we should also be directing our emails and complaints to CSC also, as it was THEY who sat on our petitions for 4 months.

definitely... and to uscis in general.

TSC should be getting support to hurry the work, it CAN be done.

If the clock was indeed reset, then wouldn't that be a USCIS error and qualify us for expedition? How do we argue this without waiting until April to prove it? Otherwise, what is the point of having a processing time limit if they can just extend indefinitely by transfering it around the country?

waiting until april would be cutting your nose off to spite your face, why do that? why wait till april so you can complain???? when you call uscis and get the automated message saying "if you were transferred to TSC, please wait 180 days from date of transfer" and you just say "okie dokie" and hang up and wait, sorry dude but i feel you have just changed the deal and AGREED to it.

instead you push hmmm was it #3? and say there is a problem and you get a person on the phone and you say there's been a horrible mistake, (stay calm, rational, sweet but stunned tone) and say i have heard the most horrifying thing on the automated message system and need to clear it up because there is a huge mistake.

tell them you receipt number and name etc

give them your noa1 (and if you are k3 give them your add'l noa1)

give them your transfer date

if you have an expedite date give them that (at this point EVERYONE on here over 5 months SHOULD have one - this is what people are speaking about whne they say expedites are treated differently... if one person has just had heart surgery and has an expedite because of that and another has an expedite because of this time bar thing, those are not goign to be treated equally.)

ok, now explain to them that under NO circumstance are you going to wait an additional 180 days on top of the time you had waited prior to the transfer! Internally their rule on this is 60 days form date of transfer, so if you have not been processed (and again most of us were transferred BEGINNING of November) CALL THEM and get another expedite issued!!

Now you have TWO expedites in the system... which gives more weight to your cause when you contact your Senator.

Couple other things... if they tell you they cannot issue expedite because their system will not allow - they are lying to you. Ask for call to be escalated. System will allow them to put in for expedite because it will recognize it's been longer than 5 months and right now they are on July 16th.

If you are in final review and have heard nothing you can call back in 2 weeks "after expedite" ( i forgot to add) instead of the normal 30 days you would wait after expedite.

ok, think that's it for this brain dump ;)

if you gave your info (receipt #s, full name, etc) to anyone on VJ under the guise that they would "help" you through the immigration journey with his inside contacts (like his sister at USCIS) ... please contact OLUInquiries@dhs.gov, and go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact to report anything suspicious. Contact your congressman and senator's offices as well.

I think the evidence would be the letter we all got:

Your case has been transferred to TSC TO SPEED UP PROCESSING...

How we'd get through to anyone on this is beyond me though. The Ombudsman may be the best avenue - I mailed him earlier, maybe we should all mail him with our grievances.

OLUInquiries@dhs.gov

Failing that, we should ALL inundate the Whitehouse with emails concerning the matter.

i could just hug you to pieces!!

The initial stage of expedite is to call the uscis 1800# and speak to a csr - then a T2 who will then place an expedite service request for you. They will then send you a letter and / or an email requesting further evidence / proof that you qualify for such processing.

If its expedited for the reason being a delay in the processing time, im not totally sure, I very much doubt it, as you have to place a new expedite request at the NVC stage and meet the criteria for them too.

No, i am not.

an expedite based on time bar like this can be done even by a tier 1 person. they have all the "supporting docs".

Does this expedite carry through NVC and the Embassy?

none of the expedites carry through AFAIK.

I may be wrong but i believe even in medical situations the info still has to be resubmitted at each stage.

sorry :-( but at least the availablity is there for expedite (for what thats worth, doesnt seem to speed things anyway)

Very true, however due to the mess the csr's kept making regarding our initial inquiries, we placed ours with a T2. I wasnt confident in their 'ability', whatsoever.

Correct; this is for medical, financial, family, or other expedite issues. If you dont hear something within 5 days, contact them again.

On the time delay expedite they have all supporting docs, and a tier 1 is authorized to do it.

I think that's where people were getting confused on the word "expedite", because some people had expedites from beginning due to health/financial/family issues and some got ASA their 5 months were up at beginning of December.

Medical issues should not be a problem being approved at NVC level if granted at USCIS level. Ive yet to see one denied, and the same supporting docs can be used at the NVC which will then speed up the process at the Consulate. Its advisable to contact your consulate when your case is on its way after the NVC to request an even sooner interview date.

Ive not known of an expedited s.r. approved because of prolonged processing, being approved at NVC however. It may have happened, but Im not aware of it on here or i2us, anyway.

Very true, however due to the mess the csr's kept making regarding our initial inquiries, we placed ours with a T2. I wasnt confident in their 'ability', whatsoever.

AGREED!

i actually declined the offer of the tier 1 'expedite' ... i preferred to have the call escalated and looked into more deeply. IDK if they can see same things, but tier 2 can TELL you more things. And when a tier 1 uses the wrong wordings i get a little ball of mistrust building in my gut that whispers "transfer to tier 2, dont take his offer"

i've been told that there is no time frame on either type of expedite (which i believe has also been told on VJ as well). but time frame for calling back to check on it's status is after 30 days... depending on where you are in the process though it could be 2 weeks (i.e. final review they will say call back in 2 weeks).

you know what i love about VJ? i dont have to rmember this stuff LOL between my visa dated/timed call logs for my specific things and the info provided me by sources which i can post here i dont have to carry this stuff in memory once i do a brain dump hahahahaha

sorry, i should have clarified the "if you dont hear anything within 5 days contact them again" was specifically in addition to RichiJenny's "then a T2 who will then place an expedite service request for you. They will then send you a letter and / or an email requesting further evidence / proof that you qualify for such processing." comment.

... if you are contacting them for the first time regarding the expedite they will send you the forms etc within that 5 days. you do not want to sit waiting for 30 or 60 days before you call to find out status of your expedite only to find out you should have filled out paperwork (which HAS happened to folks!)
