Well I voted about a week and a half ago and it was somewhat busy. I will say that I had never been besieged by so many candidate workers trying to hand me election brochures and get me to vote for them. I just did the regular as I was coming through and said all Socialist scum stay away from me and no thank as I make up my mind before I get to the polling place. A candidates kid was even there and he tried to get me to take his stuff with hope in his eyes and I was nice and said no thanks and good luck. His dad is trying as a Socialist in a huge conservative enclave.

I usually go during the week and avoid Saturday early voting but had no choice this time. I did like the big Libertarian presence though for a change. good.gif

I voted today in Houston at 11am this morning at the elementary school in my neighborhood which has been used for voting for decades. I breezed right through. Must have caught it at the right time. No lines or anything. A teacher from the school brought her class of young kids in to observe.

Voted at an elementary school. In and out in less than 7 minutes.

Only thing peculiar is I noticed you can vote without ID! All you have to do is fill out an affidavit. wacko.gif

I wonder how many dead people voted?

As the old joke goes...vote early and vote often. ;)

No absentee ballot for doing early voting. It like a regular voting with a booth. The only difference is that we vote at a central location at the county court house instead at the usual nearby elementary school in my neighborhood. I have voted absentee for the times I was going to be out of the country and not present for either early or the regular voting day. Anyone can vote early that chooses to do so with no excuse needed. A valid picture ID is needed.

How far before the election do they have early voting?

I can't get to the states guidelines so I can link to it to show you but it is appx. about two weeks before the regular election and stops from a week to a about 3-4 days before the election. Can't remember the exact guidelines. Since I am gone from home a acouple of weeks at a time it fits me and many to vote early.

Each state is different. Oregon, as I recall, only has vote-by-mail, they don't have any traditional ballot booths anymore.

I just got home from voting, I went after work tonight before the polls closed at 7pm Central. It was moderately busy, but not too bad. I was in and out in about 15 minutes.

I hope everyone who legally can, went out and cast their ballot and did their part for our democracy

I just returned from our polling place, which is only a block away. I didn't vote because we moved to a new home after the cut off for an address change, so I was told I'd have to submit a provisional ballot. Who knows when they'll be counted. They made me do that another time in another county because they messed up my last name by combining my maiden name and married into a single word after I changed it, then they couldn't find me in the rolls. Heck if I'm doing that again. I hate the GOP and the Dims equally theses days, so I'll hate whomever wins anyway lol.
