You need to get married and then file for your adjustment of status. One of the things you generally do at the same time as filing for your AOS is filing for your EAD, or work permit. Check the guides above to find out what forms you need. It takes awhile, so be prepared.

After your fiance has moved here using the K-1 Visa, you get need to get married within 90 days then apply for ADJUSTMENT OF STATUS. My wife and I just sent our AOS packet in September. Green Card, Work Authorization, and Travel Documents (Advanced Parole) can all be applied for at the same time for $1,010.

Follow the steps on provided in the AOS Guide.

It usually takes about 3 months to get your Employment Card (work permit), and 3-4 months for Green Card. I wish you guys the best!!!

K1 Visa Process -> 12/09-06/10 Married -> 09/10/10 AOS Process -> 09/10-12/10 Removal of Conditions-> 09/12-07/13

U.S. Naturalization -> 7/8/20

Congratulations on finally being together. Enjoy! :luv:

Of course he wants to begin to work as soon as possible, after all, Dominicans are very hard-working people. Yet, you first need to get married and file for the Adjustment Of Status, Advance Parole, and Employment Authorization Document first. The EAD takes about 3 months to get approved. In the meantime, your man can be the best househusband ever and work on projects at home :star:

Best wishes!
