I wondered if anyone can tell me, near the bottom of the interview notice, what 'original and copies of each supporting document that you submitted with your application' mean?

Do they want an entire copy of the AOS application - complete with I-485 forms and everything?

No, there are forms (I-485, I-864 etc) and there are documents (Birth/marriage/divorce certificates etc) They want you to bring the originals of the documents for which you have submitted copies. Just bring them all, that way if there's anything wrong (maybe someone put the hole-puncher in just the wrong spot!) they can verify on your originals when you go.

I had with me a newer certified copy of my birth certificate, which was not the one that I submitted a copy of originally, so she did take the copy I had of that - that was the only thing she took to add to the file. The rest (marriage cert etc) she examined the seal and verified we had submitted a good copy and then returned them to us.

If you have a complete copy of the application and everything you submitted as copies, bring it with.

I think we had a backup copy and that was with, but it wasn't asked.

There's a long list of stuff on that list. Bring them as copies and originals. The more the better.

What were asked from us (last month) in the interview were

- rent contracts (had copies for 3 years)

- insurance papers showing both (which we had for both - he had me insured, I him before moving over here)

- marriage cert original (they had a copy)

- his birth cert, original

- my bith cert --- since I don't have one, the full extract of population used for the same purpose from the country of citizenship did that. there was a copy of that in the app but it wasn't as fully detailed as the one we had so we had that original, and they made a copy of that

We also had adoption documentation for our cats (since they are our fluffy children and are adopted for both of us names), lots of photos (they didn't care to see any), mail addressed to both of us, fishing licenses for both of us for the same dates etc, a few flight receipts and reservations when booking for both, and his passport which was full of stamps for seeing me.

What they were mostly interested in seeing were proofs of being together, so any financial things together (bought property or cars, children, etc, bank accounts, insurances etc).

It will probably be a thick pile but rather have enough papers than not enough with.
