We just mailed our packet today...right before the fees go up! Nothing like last minute, but my hubby is a bit of a procrastinator and there's only so much I can do to push him ;)

Just curious, for those who do walk-in biometrics, what is the reason? Does this speed up your process if you are able to get in? Best of luck to everyone!

I did an early walk in 'just in case' it sped things up....

i have no idea if it does or not in the long run

some people say it helps, some people say it doesnt make a difference, some people say it depends on your local centre's processing situation...

in my case, an ASC is about 6 blocks away from where i work, so i just figured i'd turn up on a Wednesday and see if they'd let me....

11/01/2010 - I-130 & I-485 filed -

11/03/2010 - Received at Chicago address Fed Ex delivered - (Day1)

11/08/2010 - Received Text and email confirmation, checks cashed - (Day6)

11/12/2010 - Received Hard Copy NOA's - (Day10)

11/13/2010 - Biometrics appointment scheduled for December 8th - (Day11)

11/17/2010 - Successful Biometrics walk in - (Day14)

06/14/2011 - still nothing, no online update since 11/17/2010. so frustrated (Day lost count)

08/03/2011 - received email that interview is scheduled for 09/08/2011

09/08/2011 - interview Garden City - received first card production ordered email :)

11/12/10:Get married

11/19/10: I-693 sealed.It means my chest x ray is fine :)

11/20/10: Package [ I-130,I-485,I-765] sent to Lockbox

11/22/10 [Day 1]: Delivered there

11/29/10 [Day 7]: Return receipt from USPS

12/13/10 [Day 21]: Texts and email received [ after 21 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

12/16/10 [Day 24]: Snail copy received

12/18/10 [Day 26]: Every single form touched

12/20/10 [Day 28]: Biometrics letter received

1/13/11 [Day 51]: Biometrics done

1/24/11 [Day 62]: Biometrcis appointment received AGAIN.!!!!!!!!!I was like #######

2/04/11 [Day 72]: Second biometrics done

2/15/11 [Day 83]: EAD in production.

2/18/11 [Day 86]: Interview letter received, set for March 21

2/22/11 [Day 90]: EAD mailed out.

Just received email and text USCIS Acceptance Confirmation!

This is a good thing right?? Is this what they call NOA1? What is NOA2? What's next?

This does mean everything was filled out correctly?

Sorry for all the questions and excited and nervous at the same time!

Hope everyone has a great thanksgiving holiday may we all have the awesome gift of approval this holiday season!

It means that they accepted your application. They can still send you an RFE (Request for Evidence) during the whole process till you actually get the green card in your hand. Accepting your application merely means that all applications were the right editions, all signed, fees were correct. Over all, it is a good thing and better than having all your package mailed back to you.

sure its normal, look at other peoples timelines....

it took them 5 days to email/text me/ cash the cheques....

and because of the holidays, it will probably take them longer to get to you.....

wait another week or so

May 2002 He stopped attending school because he couldn't afford it any longer.

03?/2002 USC sibling I-130 petition

02/2009 Met hubby

08/2009 Sibling petition approved but ineligible to adjust status due to overstay

07/10 Married :)

11/22/10 [day 0]- mailed AOS packet!! should be there by noon 11/23/2010

12/3/10 [day 11]- received email/text notification of acceptance from USCIS

12/3/10 hubby surprised me with a trip to Los Angeles for my birthday...no problems :)

12/6/10 [day 14]- received hard copy NOA1 in mail

12/7/10 [day 15]- checks cashed...ouch

12/15/10 [day 23]- rec'd biometrics appt set for Dec. 28th at 10 am! :)

12/28/10 [day 36]- successful biometrics appt

01/27/11 [day 66]- rec'd interview appt set for March 10th at 10 am :)

02/25/11 [day 95]- rec'd EAD

03/10/11 [day 109]- Interview, Green card approved!! :)

Next Step: Removing conditions in 2 years.
