Ok, thanks. Seeing the great storm of indignation I have formed my own opinion about the case. It was just a calm question for what I have got some agressive "attacks". Some felt pity toward me, others became angry and started to talk about generalisation even it was not a subject of generalisation just an experience: I havebeen told this but heard from others as well (like the "who pays the first airplane ticket question".

Actually you kicked off the generalizations when you stated that the "fellows" you spoke with said that most MENA men who marry Americans have dead fiancees. Not sure where the aggressive attacks are. Some people were super sensitive but attacks? And aggressive attacks? Ok.

I think it's lame to classify Arab guys as liars cause this happens all over the place, people break up, lie, cheat, wherever they are, it's not particularly the Arabic man who has these traits, but this is for a fact Arabic men are passionate, they care and provide for their wives, mothers, and sisters. i can't see it generalized like many people do.

Lets say MANY arabic men provide for their wives. But SOME freeload off the American women that sponsored them, SOME cheat on their American sponsor wives with other women and SOME married the American only for papers or financial game and have literally destroyed the life of the woman and her family.

You can never generalise about an entire group of people. Its not that arab guys do this more than Americans because they do not but SOME of the marriages that have been on the boards have involved physical and emotional abuse as well as game playing to get a visa , get over here and get gone.
