Is there a minnimum amout of time that you must have known your fiancee prior to putting in for the K-1 visa? From what I've read, the only requirement is to have physically met them within 2 years of applying for a visa. I've known her for about 9 months, but only have physically spent 10 days with her. My 2nd question is the K-1 Visa process really faster than the K-3 process? My fiancee and I have been debaiting whether or not I go down to Brazil to marry in-country, apply for the K-3 visa, or put in for a K-1 visa. Thank you

K-3 is a dead visa. But the K-1 is slightly faster (but more expensive) than the Cr-1 spousal visa

No minimum amount of time required to have known your fiance. However, some consulates will raise flags if you file too quickly after knowing or meeting.

Honestly, you know someone for 2 days and file the fiance visa...sounds fishy even to me

Good luck

USCIS doesn't give a hoot - they meet the requirements for a petition approval.

It may cause some problems at the consulate, but it depends very much on the particular consulate. How does Brazil rate on the "Fraud-O-Meter"?

Make sure that you take pictures together and save all of your proof of travel (Airplane tickets, bagage claim tickets, car rental, money exhcange, etc.) every time you travel to Brazil.
