I have a couple of questions about naturalization process.

Do you get the date for oath ceremony on the same day for your civics test interview day?( of course, if you passed the test)Or they tell you that you've passed and you will be mailed a notice of date for your oath ceremony later some time? If so how long do you wait before getting the final decision mail?

In my case, I passed the interview and test, but I did not bring all the documentation it seems, so the officer told me to fax her all the required documents. I faxed her everything then. And it's been 2 weeks, but I haven't heard anything of any kind. Anybody had the similar experience? When I check my case status online or over the phone, it says "Testing and Interviewing".

Thanks in advance..

Hello.

You do not need to be worried, I understand ur situation but calm down. :)

if you passed ur test and u were told you passed! then u should be fine. and yes there is some people passed their test just like u and they left the office with no result letter. but this doesnt mean u not ok... so the good news is when she asked u to fax her the papers that she requested. then u passed. and soon u will see the oath letter in ur mail box ..(Insha'allah) God willing.

but they always say we will notify u in 120 days. after sending the request. dont ask me why but they do this, but this doesnt mean u will wait this time, maybe tomorrow who knows.

but i got a deep feelings it's a good news,.. this happend to me when i went for my green card, i left with no result or anything. after i sent him what he asked me for. i got approved :)

Good luck, and dont forget to write some of ur experience..

Like Sand said, you shouldn't worry, you are fine. What office did you go to? Did you see experiences from other people who went to that office? Try an online search of "Citizenship Interview in ..." and put the name of your local office. Some offices take 1-2 months or more before they send Oath letters, and you had to send the extra documents so that might take a little more time.

As for "Testing and Interview", I've heard from many people that it stays there forever! We had an online touch about being sent to local office for interview on Sept 14, and our case online hasn't been touched since then! Even though interview was successful on Oct 15 and Oath scheduled for Nov 15.

Yes every office will be different. Some have same day oaths, others don't. For me, I passed the test/interview, but didn't get a letter for about 3 weeks later telling me about the oath date. So if you passed, then just wait patiently for the mail...

Thanks guys for easing my mind.

I went to the office in san jose, california. The interview itself was quick and easy, took maybe no more than 10 mins, or maybe way less. Then just signed bunch of paperworks. Too bad that I forgot to bring some of the documentations such as utility bills and property ownership proof and things like that. I did not know I needed all that. She told me I passed it and just fax her the things on a list she gave me. So I did. Now I am just hoping the mail will come soon, so I can have this whole process behind me.

Thanks again!!!Good luck to everyone in this journey!
