yeah...this is the 2nd time something isn't right. They will verify the info with USCIS, and hopefully they can fix it. I would be beyond mad if they denied it, cuz then I would have to go to the USCIS and SS office AGAIN. Thats why I am thinking of scheduling an infopass...or call but i am not sure they can do anything about it.

well thats too bad. thinking you are in cali anyway. but like you said its only wednesday and well im sure it will get there still this week. but i can assure you that you can already call yourself a permant redsident.

Thanks Sarah-JAX! yep, I've been doing some research on VJ-ers with local filing centers in CA, and it seems that the GC arrives between 12- 17 days after the Welcome letter arrives...and those who live near the east coast or mid- US receive it faster. The GC doesn't come from CA at all. It actually comes from Missouri if it's family-based applications. :) til now i haven't received it yet....I haven't checked the mail today yet ..*crosses fingers*

I had my interview on March 17th.

We arrived about 10 minutes before and we were called in at about 10:40. The IO was pretty nice.

She had us raise our right hands and swear as soon as we entered and she started by asking me questions. I was asked my husbands full name, his parents name, his dob, where he was born, his job position and where he works. She then asked him the same bout me. And she went on to ask how we met and where we live…we told her the story and then she asked for additional docs of which i gave her out joint bank acct, water bill, electric bill and car insurance docs.

Afterwards she asked for the wedding pictures of which i gave her the wedding album and some random pictures taken at family gatherings. We had a small conversation and realized that we all had something in common..don't like taking pictures…that was funny.

Then she mentioned that the first name written on my birth certificate would be the name used on my greencard. She proceeded to tell us the process in removing the condition from the conditional green card. She ended by saying that we'll be notified by mail in about 2 weeks.

so….i have my fingers crossed.

Hi MsNikki, was there a reason she mentioned that?

Well..I am privileged to have 4 names listed on my birth certificate..lol. I only use 2 of them which are the 2 in the middle. All my documents have the 2 names i currently use..so I guess she was informing me that my green card would have a different first name from my other existing documents. I guess I'll have to walk around with a copy of my birth certificate or do a name switcheroo..

Did you put the middle 2 names as your desired name on your AOS application? The reason I'm asking is that my birth certificate and canadian passport do not have Joyce as first name but my HKID has. I put Joyce as first name on AOS application. I applied for a legal name change but the hearing date is not till May. My EAD and AP both have my desired name so I'm hoping my GC would have the same name too.

Yesterday morning at 10am we had our interview, it was completely painless! We brought originals and copies of every last thing on the list but only needed our joint bank statement, id's, and our baby's birthcertificate. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes! The was very easy going and very friendly, we made small talk about having kids mixed in with a few very light questions he asked us. He almost forgot to swear us in! He verfied our address and asked my husband the run of the mill have you ever had a drug problem, been involved in crime blah blah. He never asked about our relationship or even mentioned that my husband entered on the VWP. He said the fact that we have a baby together is all the proof he needs of our relationship and that was it! He shook our hands said congrats and said we should get my husband's greencard in a few weeks! We are soo happy!

Yes, there are some whose files are sent to CSC, which most of the times means approval without interview. Nobody knows for sure how and why those files are selected for CSC transfer. I, personally, sent relationship proofs with my AOS, but others haven't...so, who knows?
