Hey you guys, i received a message again about my case saying it was transfer to an USCIS office.... the EAD has not being touched since dec, I dont know what this means, they already sent it to CSC and now again to an USCIS Office... i guess they will required from Us to go to an interview? o Gosh, i am confuse.

Usually the first message about the transfer is when they send your case to CSC (from NBC), and the second message is when your case actually was received and handled at CSC. The terminology is confusing, but that's what I've read before on these forums...

Kinda funny how glued we get to these case updates. Before the technology was able to check the case online, we would just be sitting pretty waiting for something in the mail. Instead we get paranoid

We were sent separate letters for biometrics. First letter received was for AOS biometrics, and the second 1 or 2 weeks later was for the EAD. Yes having to do your biometrics again would be a delay

Sent my RFE yesterday. Just so anyone who gets RFE knows, my RFE was sent to a PO Box in Missouri and Fedex/UPS won't deliver to a PO Box; only USPS does and it takes two days even for Express Post.

My father in law sent me a message that my AP came (I hope it's the right thing...) and hubby is gonna send it to me...im relieved! And I got an email that USCIS sent me an EAD approval notice on 21st...

Guys, i just received my AP this afternoon. Yey! I already filed for SSn yesterday. :yes: It looked like I am back on track after my 2nd biometrics last week. The early november filers are sure going to get the AP and EAD in the mail. My EAd and AP arrived 2 days apart. I am a little bit worried though is it normal that I still don't have a letter for the interview? Anybody who is in the same situation too?

For those who have their Ap on hand, do you also have 2 copies. My AP is just a piece of paper with my submitted picture on the lower left corner. It expires after

one year.

Yes, you get 2 copies, be sure to take both copies with you if and when you travel. They will take one at re-entry and give one back to you stamped. You will continue to use the stamped copy when you travel again and it will be given back to you.

Why do you need to wait for EAD to get your SSN? We got my wife's SSN soon after getting married with no problems. Just brought our marriage cert, her passport with visa and i-94 (before it expired) in it, and that was it. Later we got her state ID and added her to a few bills and a joint bank account, etc.

In addition to LDG's comment, have your I-94 expired yet? If not, you can still apply for SSN. Make sure you do it ASAP as SSA may refuse to issue SSN if your I-94 is about to expired. I remember I read from other post that the time frame is about a week.

Your POE is Oct 27 so it expires on Jan 26. Try to go to SSA tomorrow and see if they can do anything for you. Good luck!

Why do you need to wait for EAD to get your SSN? We got my wife's SSN soon after getting married with no problems. Just brought our marriage cert, her passport with visa and i-94 (before it expired) in it, and that was it. Later we got her state ID and added her to a few bills and a joint bank account, etc.

SSA told me that they cant issue SSN cos I dont have EAD/GC :wacko:

yeah, for tax purposes they recommend to get the ITIN instead (individual TIN). SS has made this provision. Banks however, accepts ITIN to open a joint account. Which was what my friend and I did who were both in the situation.

February 16 2009 - August 2010---- on pre-completion OPT ( while writing my thesis)

August 2010--- graduated from grad school

August 2010-February 16 2011--- on post- completion OPT

My AOS timeline:

Nov 20 2010--- got married!! :) sent our AOS package to Chicago Lockbox.

Nov 22 2010--- package recived with my AOS (EAD, AP,I-130)

Dec 8 2010--- checks cashed for both AOS and I-130 and recived email and text notification ( 16 emails and 16 texts!wow!)

Dec 10 2010--- hard copy of NOA1 for AOS, I-131,I-130, I-765 recived via USPS

Dec 18 2010--- recived BIometrics appt. letter for Jan 7, 2011.

Dec 20 2010--- biometrics done, walk in

Feb 4 2011--- email notification that my EAD card has been ordered.sweet!

Hey, i applied for my SSN two weeks after i arrived, they asked for a copy of my I-94 and my passport, there is a question that asked if you are legal to work here, you have to say no, if you want it before getting your EAD... i have my SSN, i got it a month after because they made a mistake with my name but i got it... i have to change my last name and get the non work condition removed after i get my EAD approved.

Oh and i open an account here as soon as i got to the country, not a savings account because by that time i didn't have my SSN but a checking account...

Ps. they made me provide documents like bills, accounts that this is my current address...

If you're within 2 weeks of your I-94 expiration the SSA won't give you an SSN. You'll then have to wait until you get EAD or GC.

But if you tried to apply well before that and they refused, then they were in the wrong. But too late now.

Im AOS thru marriage to a u.s citizen from overstayed visa waiver.

Our interview is in 2 weeks and Im starting to get really nervous, I dont have anything to hide & we've been together since 2006

So far I've made a Photo album with pictures of us together on trips, pictures with family and friends

Cards from Family, Cards from Eachother thru out the years, anniversary cards, valentines day cards. etc

& then I will bring a seperate folder with all original documents.

I was not able to be put on bills or anything together since i just got an email last week that my EAD is in production and will get to me within 30 days & by that time I'll have my interview already

If anyone has their interview before me please let me know how it goes!

11/09/2010- Sent out I485, I-130, I-765 Applications Chicago Office11/14/2010- USCIS recieved my applications11/18/2010- Received Receipts11/29/2010- Received my biometrics appointment scheduled for 12/17/201012/17/2010- Biometrics Done01/07/2011- Interview Scheduled for Feb 7th.01/21/2011- Received Email saying EAD card production01/26/2011- Received Email again saying EAD card production01/31/2011- Received EAD Card in the Mail02/07/2011- AOS Interview - Green Card Approved!!!!02/08/2011- Received Email Card/Document Production11/30/2012- Mailed out I-75112/07/2012- Received NOA12/11/2012- Received Biometric Appointment letter

12/28/2012- Biometric Appointment

05/28/2013 - Approval Letter Recieved

06/19/13- 10 Year Green Card Recieved !!!! :)

04/25/2014- Mailed out N-400 Application

05/02/2014 - Recieved email from USCIS

05/05/2014-NOA Letter

05/23/2014- Biometrics Appointment

05/28/2014- Text/Email notification In Line for Interview

07/16/2014- Text/Email Scheduled for interview

07/21/2014- Text/Email Placed in line for interview scheduling. very odd scheduled for interview and then placed back in line again

07/22/2014- Text/Email Scheduled for Interview
07/28/2014- Received interview letter
08/26/14- Interview Appointment/ Citizenship test ( APPROVED :D )

08/27/14- Scheduled for Oath Ceremony

09/16/14- Oath Ceremony :goofy::dance:
