I have a question, maybe anyone on here knows.. If you get your AOS approved without the interview, what are you supposed to do with your I-94 (departure/arrival) form? Are you supposed to keep it, cause as far as I know you give it away at the interview.. Thanks!

I doubt you will need it for anything, but I plan on just filing this away with his other "Immigration" paperwork in the files that I am keeping for ROC in 2 years, etc. We still have the K-1 I-129F submission copies, copies of the sponsorship paperwork with all the tax copies, the AOS/EAD/AP stuff, etc. We are already collecting evidence info, so hopefully in 2 years minus 90 days we will be all set. :)

:( Oh geez, why does this have to be sooo confusing and full of mis-information??

I just went in to My Account at USCIS.gov to show my husband the official news that we are getting his Permanent Resident card....and this is what it now says:

Decision

On January 20, 2011, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

During this step the formal decision (approved/denied) is written and the decision notice is mailed and/or emailed to the applicant/petitioner. You can use our current processing time to gauge when you can expect to receive a final decision.

Guess that means we still have to wait to purchase those plane tickets?!? I really don't want to purchase them until I either am certain the AOS or AP is approved, or til we have it in hand? Argghhhhh!

Don't worry you're bound to get your AP anytime. This is a separately processed case. Can't say much about what all that means, but it's bound to be better than waiting for an interview.

yes, technically the proof of relationship is not needed at this stage, but we thought it wouldn't hurt to show them how happily married we are, especially since the age difference between my husband and I is bigger than what's considered "normal" in the US. I was happy to read that we got transfered, but after reading about the huge backlog at CSC I started wondering if it had been better/quicker for us to have an interview...

I just received the email that my EAD has gone into "Card/ Document Production"

I also filed on Nov 9, and my case hasn't been Touched once since it was received.

As I've said before, I think there's a problem with the "Touch" thing.

Quick Q for those of you who've been transferred to CSC:

Did you submit any proof of relationship with your AOS package?

We did not submit any proof of relationship with our AOS package. I've been thinking alot about this ever since it was transferred - why was it transferred? Some ideas, but obviously who knows how accurate...

1.) We have "established" my husband in the U.S. His name is on our electric bill. He is an authorized user of "our" credit cards (my account, but it was easier to add him as an authorized user than to re-apply for new accounts, and hopefully less of a negative impact to both our credit scores), we got his SSN less than a month after he arrived, he was added to my medical insurance through work immediately after the wedding and has visited a doctor, a dermatologist, and an orthodontist. He is a beneficiary on everything of mine from life insurance, 401k, etc. and was added after he got his SSN. He receives mail at our house from relatives, from junk mail already, and from a charity we sponsored when a friend did a charity walk. I think these actions make it easier for the gov't and other background searchers to "see" him in the system.

2.) We have a really cut & dry case. We were both never married with no children. We both had stable jobs with nothing on our criminal records, just speeding tickets. We were aware of the process in general from our second meeting in person...and we met in person on 7 trips back and forth over the pond before, 6 before filing K-1. We don't need a co-sponsor and I was very thorough in including the needed evidence for the I-864. Our ages are close together...He is 2 years & 5 months older than me. We don't have huge language or religious difference, though we are realizing no two cultures are as "similar" as they may seem.

3.) We only included "basic" evidence when doing the K-1 but clearly established those items which they requested such as meeting in person. No chat logs or phone logs were provided, but boarding passes, receipts of purchases, photos of us with other family members were submitted.

4.) I'm sure everybody does this the best they can - but I know I have put a lot of effort when submitting our packages that the stuff is assembled as requested and when no direction is given it is in logical order and clearly organized with cover letters, etc.

Not sure why our case was submitted to CSC. At first, I wasn't too happy due to reading that it could take months longer, but having received a surprise approval...I'm now feeling quite lucky.

Hope everyone gets their approvals quickly!!!!
