k1 visa police certificate

I have a very hypothetical question....

I have asked questions here before on the effect a minor criminal conviction will have on the approval of a k1 visa. In thinking about it (alllll the time) I started wondering what would happen if (between the possible few month's time) you got your police certificate & had your interview, you had committed another crime of some sort. No matter if it were a big one or the smallest one, would it be up to you to tell them this? I mean, it wouldn't be on your police certificate. Obviously you would want to tell them but I guess I was just thinking about the whole process.

Just my off the cuff reply... I would not worry too much about having misdemeanors or other smaller, non-violent convictions, especially if a long time in the past. If it is a violent charge against a woman or family member, that might hold things up. Still may not completely STOP everything.

You'll be asked again (At the visa interview, or later during AOS, they'll get you somewhere) if you've committed, been arrested for, or convicted of any crime. It will be under oath. Lying, of course, will be a problem.

So, don't think getting the police certificate is a free pass for bad behavior!
