hi everyone, please help me out here.

I am a 28 year old female, single, (to be married next year), work with an international organisation for four months, going for a conference (related to my area of work and my course of study in school). My dad is sponsoring the trip and he has much more than enough money to sponsor the trip. The conference is for three days in california. My leave is for two weeks, so i plan to spend a few more days in california, then head down to texas for the second week. In this second week, i plan to :

1. attend a one day training (very good training for my Resume)

2. Visit an old friend who just gave birth and lives in texas.

Please what supporting documents would i need?

any advice on questions i might be asked at the consulate?

NB: i havent travelled before.

First question, what country will you be coming from?

Documents, a letter from your employer indicating when and where the conference is, why YOU must attend and your expected return date. Then bring a letter from your friend in Texas indicating you'll be staying with her for x amount of days and will return to your home country.

Then bring anything and everything you can to show you must return, like a lease/mortgage, utility bills, car note, note from school indicating enrollment and class schedule, etc.. Perhaps a letter from your father saying he's footing the bill for the trip

Good luck

Thanks Canadian mummy. Actually for this my friend, i am not going to sleep at her house. i have made my hotel reservation for the whole trip (almost 1600 USD) and i wont want to make anyone uncomfortable in their house. plus since she just had a baby, wont want anyone worrying about pleasing a guest.

Thanks, so far i have :

a letter from my dad saying he is sponsoring the trip

work certificate from my office stating how long i have worked, approved leave period, and annual salary

payslips of my dad and my own pay slips

bank details of my dad and my own bank details

details of my school (i am currently doing an online masters from a school in UK)

coming from nigeria

I would not commit to any outlay before a visa interview.

You do not seem to have a very strong application.
