How to fill I-864 if you have both W-2 and 1099 ?

Loto and Me are talking about it right now.

My situation is that i have both w-2 and 1099 for my last year and this year too.

So for the i-864, line 22, which one i checked, is a (Employed as a/an) only or had to check both a and b(Self-employed as a/an), and do i have to provided the evidence to NVC about my 1099 payment too? that one only can get at the end of the year, but i have my w-2 six month pay stubs ready.

so anyone have same situation like me or willing to help or learn from it...

come one guys...these days the i-864 form driving me nuts.....

Your 1099 is a small amount and consider it as a part-time work.

But your W2 is the main job for living.

So, give more weight to W2 and check as an employee.

I don't think checking both employed and self employed would be an issue, as well. It would be a good idea to explain why you checked both as well.

Is the 1099 related to the W2 earnings? ie: Bonus check not normally included in regular earnings? Or is the 1099 from a self employed endeavor? If you so you can check both and attach explanation if you are worried about it, or since you are attaching tax returns to go in packet, it probably explains the business on the schedules you file with the extra income.

1099 and W-2 are not related.

Two different company, 1099 just a small amount, the church issued it to me, they don't gave W-2 since i am not a employee to them..so i guess i should check both and attach a letter to explain it, that's safer...
