NOA2 expiry date and interview date questions

Our NOA2 has an expiry date of March 15th. What does this date mean? We may not be able to have the interview by then, because the interview date was scheduled less than 2 weeks after we received Packet 4, and my fiancee still needs to go get the medical, which will take another week to process.

I'm guessing it's not a problem, since we have Packet 4, but anyone have any other info? (And I know that some people wait longer than 6-monts after Packet 4 to get interview...)

I think I know where you are coming from on this one, we found ourselves in a similar situation its the expiry date of the original declaration by the petitioner that is the problem as it was for us because the proceedings take longer than the petition is valid for sometimes so my lawyer advised my fiancee to send me a sealed letter of intent to request that the intentions stated in her original peteition notice (form 129f) be extended further and she has to sign that and you would need to take a copy with you to your interview if that date is past the original approval date. Im no lawyer and my advice is purely from my experience but Im sure someone on here has had the same kind of problem and concern. From what I understand there is nothing fancy about this letter it just has to be worded so that it expresses the petitioners intentions are the same as when first filed and it must be signed and dated to reflect their most recent intentions.

Hope this helps you out...Good Luck..I need some my interview is on the 8th March and I will have such a letter with me despite the fact that my cut off date is the 17th March..better safe than sorry later

It will be revalidated at embassy so dont worry.

Extending the Petition

The I-129F petition is valid for four months from the date of approval from USCIS. Consular officers can extend the validity of the petition (revalidate the petition) if it expires before the processing of the visa application is completed.

Gladdy,

Just to clarify.....all applying for a K-1 visa are required to submit another 'letter of intent' from both the petitioner and beneficiary(applicant).

The embassy will not allow the petition to expire. Good luck with your interview

Miwa i think if u couldnt get everythin done b4 then u have to email the consulate or call them to reshedule u for another date, i'll be emailed them always and the're very prompt to response. Am happy for the date they gave my fiancee cos am still waitin for my income tax form 2004 to send to him. and then he's goin to medical by first week of march and get everythin in order b4 lastweek of march.

good luck and let me know what u come up wt.

We managed to reschedule the interview from feb 28 to march 28 (the next date they had open!)

Guess they are busy. :)

If you email them after you sent packet 3, they can tell you when is her interview about one month ahead so she can prepare med exam. Somehow it take couple weeks between they made the appointment and ppl actually recieved packet 4. Anyways, March 28 isn't far away, so good luck and best wish!
