Aproximating dates?

As I've said, we're almost ready to send everything out and I'm smoothing out some details. One of them is that I can't remember when I came to the U.S. in details. It was over 4 years ago. I wrote down the date at which I crossed the border as well at the PoE, but I'm afraid I might be off by a day or two.

Now I wonder if I should write, on a separate piece of paper, that I'm not entirely sure when I came in or if I should just leave it at that.

I had enough trips to the US that I just used a separate sheet to list them.

On my list of previous vists to the US, for several of the trips I put my best guess of a date, followed by an *, and then down at the bottom of the list I put *: Date approximate. These would be for cases where I know the date to within a week or so, but no longer have any specific records.

For some of them, I just put a month and year followed by **, and at the bottom put **:Precise Date Unknown. These would be for childhood vacations with my parents back in the 80s where no documentation of any kind would even exist any more.

That got me through with no problems. I think they realize that Canadians are a special case and we may perfectly reasonably not know all of the precise dates of every single trip we ever took to the US.

I would probably do the same. Enter an approximate date and make sure you include an additional explanation for it. HeatDeath's format sounds good to me.

Still don't understand why in the world Canadians don't get one single stamp when they enter US?Seems like that generates a lot of issues when you apply for AOS (filling out paperwork, interview...). Something's gotta change.

Mmm I think I will go with what you both said. I only came the the U.S. once before actually staying here and it was a week or two prior to the second visit (I came to visit, went back home, learned I lost my job, was going to move back to my home town, but decided to visit the boyfriend again (now husband) since I didn't really have any financial responsibilities).

So, I will list my two trips and had a paper saying explaining that it's was too far in the past and that I don't remember exactly when I crossed the border.
