So, I have another question....and I'm sorry if I'm not posting this in the correct thread. I just really need this question answered, as I want to mail these forms out tomorrow. ;)

On form DS-156 on the first page, is a spot for a picture. Do I add this or does the consular officer do this? LOL May be a silly question as it does say "Do not write in this space"....lol.....but these forms are driving me mad! :P

Thanks! :)

I could 100% be wrong, so don't take my word for it... but we are also getting ready to do the Packet 3 forms.... and I thought the DS-156 was done online now, as part of DS-160? and that you had to upload your passport photo there?

Again, I could definitely be wrong, I just thought Montreal was moving to the DS-160, which was a bunch of different forms as one big new one?

Shoot, sorry, I was wrong, I just re-checked... there is a spot for DS-156 on the website.

No idea what to do about the photo then....

But I thought K1's had to do the new DS-160 and upload the photo?

Yeah, it's the DS-160 that you upload the photo to. I already completed that one. (was a pian in a** mind you,as I had to get a passport pic uploaded onto a disk in order to upload it into my computer...I don't have a scanner)

Thanks for your help though! :)

haha well, I really wasn't of much help, but thank you for YOUR help in clarifying we do still need to do the DS-160! :)

I hear you about no scanner... I already asked my roommate if she would scan it for me! phew, thank goodness for roommates! It's also annoying that I have to get more passport photos done, since they say they should be done within 6 months of the interview, and the ones I sent with the I129F package are now almost 6 months old. ugh.

In the VJ example form, it doesn't have anything in that space, for the photo on the DS-156. Maybe they add them at the consulate? I feel like it's such a basic question we should just KNOW, but I don't, haha.... hopefully someone will come along and confirm for us!

Once I think I know how to fill out the forms correctly, something pops up where it make me question it! lol So frustrating!

Yeah, I do think that it will be the consular's job to put the photo on the 156 form. I'm just being very paranoid! lol We already had a RFE, so I am making sure that everything is done properly. I want to move already!!!! :P

I hear ya about the passport photos btw....I had to get more done last week. $45 it cost me! AWFUL!

Hey there...I realize our interview was in Jamaica and you are Canada...but it should be the same idea...The passport photos that you have to take with you are for the forms (DS-156, DS-156k and DS-157). So when my fiance and I got to the embassy they took the passport photos and stapled them to the DS-156 for us. Also, they say they want the passport photos taken less than 6 months ago so that they look like your current self...so as long as there are no dates on the photos and you haven't had any drastic changes in your looks (hair cut or color change or drastic weight gain or loss) then you're fine if you have enough photos you don't need more...Hope this helps! :)

Find a nice photographer.

I use the same one for years, but you could always ask.

When the photographer took my photo, for the 5 pictures that needed to be submitted, I just had him email me one of them. So when I had to attach the photo, it was the exact same one now digital, as the other 5 which were date stamped on the back.

Just an idea for ya ... good luck on the submission, hopefully you will get a quick interview date.

Thanks! I went and had them done at Blacks. *shrugs* I just wanted them done already! I paid way to much for them, as I had to get 6 (came in 2's). But it all uploaded well, and I sent off my forms today and they should arrive at the Consulate tomorrow! :)
