N-400 November 2010 Filers

My husband studied very hard for his exam, he even went to 2 citizenship classes at the public library. SO, anyone interested in Orlando, who needs/wants extra help with studying can attend for free. As my husband is still learning English, he felt it worth his time. He said one class in particular was awesome.

My husband's interview was at 9:30 a.m. today, but as he was nervous, he showed up at 7 a.m. (LOL). He was called at about 9 a.m. and called me to say he passed at 9:22 so it was pretty fast. His ISO was a woman. She asked him a number of questions and he got them all right. He was asked about the Constitutional Convention, the Cold War, the last date that we send in our taxes, the minimum voting age, a question about colonists coming to America, about Native Americans, cabinet-level positions, the branches of the government, the Declaration of Independence, and questions about the president (if he dies and/or the VP, who will become president?). In my opinion, he did not get asked the "easy" questions. But he was prepared.

He was asked a few questions from his application, too.

When he left he was given a paper with a checkmark saying that he passed the exam and Congratulations. He was asked when he would be available for the oath, which Friday.

I'm so proud of him. He just told me that it's not easy. You have to study. But assuming you study and go prepared you should be fine. My friend's mother-in-law went on Friday and she was asked a number of questions (I know one was about the national anthem) and she got them alright. My husband didn't have that question.

I haven't heard anything negative about citizenship interviews in the Orlando office.

He also had to read a question which the ISO answered, and then he wrote her answer.

I updated below...Sorry for the delay. I had my interview yesterday (March 15th) in Orlando and it was VERY easy.

The ONLY thing the officer wanted was my 2009 tax transcript. He said my file and submission was perfectly organized with everything and I was the easiest and most straightforward case he had so far for the week. And imagine I was fussing and worrying so much and had taken soooooo much stuff with me to the interview!

My oath is scheduled for this Friday the 18th.

Congrats. My husband said that the ISO who interviewed him was not nice, so that's good that your interview went well.

The officer asked him for our taxes, in fact, that was the first thing she said to him.

When his test was over and he was told he passed, the officer asked him when he wanted to schedule his oath - this Friday or next. He said next week (which works out better for me because I don't have to work . We're just waiting for the notice to come in the mail.

Its Official as of 3/16/2011 I am now a US Citizen and I must say the oath ceremony in Salt Lake City was absolutley wonderful.
