It never really ends till its all over.

Now my new anxiety is not over the 100 Qs but of the IO poring over my file and asking me weird questions and trying to scare me...what if he/she is rude and mean, what if he/she intimidates me etc, What if I forget some important document, what if the IO does not approve me, what if I am asked for something I dont have...so many what ifs!!!

After the Interview I know I will be fretting over when the oath will be...

I am envious of your patience Nyhazmat!!!

Just remember, this part is easier than the last one, which was easier than the one before, etc :yes: . . . .Relax and you will done before you realize it :clock: And as for me, I'm hanging out to see how it turns out :pop:

Today was my interview and I couldn't have imagined it going any smoother. I showed up at the office at 1:10 for my 1:40 interview, slid my interview letter into a slot and got settled in for what I assumed would be long wait. No more than 5 minutes later the IO was at the door calling my name. I went back to his office and give him all my documents (passport, drivers license, green card) and he pulled out my file. He asked me the basic questions about my application (address, name, that I wasn't a terrorist)and then got to the civics test.

At what age can a US citizen vote?

Name one right from the 1st amendment.

Who is in charge of the executive branch?

Who serves as president if the president can no longer serve?

Why did the colonists come to the United States?

Name on state that borders Canada.

Write: California has the most people.

Read: What state has the most people?

He then asked for my selective service proof (thanked me for being organized) and gave me the sheet saying I was approved. The whole process took about 15 minutes and I was out of the office and on my way before my scheduled appointment and stopped for some true Memphis BBQ. Now I just need to wait for my oath letter and I'm all done!!

What is Selective service proof??

What is Selective service proof??

If you're a male living in the US between your 18th and 26th birthdays you have to register for the selective service (what they use for a military draft I believe). The proof was just a page I had to look up on the selective service website and print off.

Greetings All,

Today I had my interview in Philadelphia, Got there around 10:10AM for a 10:20AM appointment and was quickly called in by my IO within less than five minutes of waiting.

The IO swore me to tell the truth, went through the application and then printed out a sheet of 10 questions. He told me to only answer the first six questions which I had to answer by writing the answers under the question, absolutely no oral questions were asked whatsoever.

Questions on the test were as follows:

1. What did the Declaration of Independence do?

2. Name one branch or part of the government.

3. We elect a U.S Senator for how many years?

4. If both the president and the vice president can no longer serve, who becomes President?

5. What does the Presidents Cabinet do?

6. How many justices are on the Supreme Court?

The IO followed up with a quick one liner that I had to write:

"Columbus Day is in October"..

And with a few clicks of the mouse he advised me that he was recommending my application and printed out my oath ceremony letter which is dated for 2/9/2011 (Next Wednesday)

I have to admit I was pretty impressed with Philly's processing times. Next Wednesday it will all be over!

09/04/2007 Sent AOS papers

09/05/2007 Papers received

09/19/2007 NOA sent from uscis

09/28/2007 Received biometrics appointment letter for Fort Lauderdale appt for 10/11/07

10/05/2007 Did biometrics in Orlando

11/9/2007 EAD approved

11/23/2007 Received EAD in the mail

12/14/2007 Advance Parole received in the mail

02/20/2008 Interview for AOS in Orlando

02/25/2008 Greencard Approved

March - got greencard in the mail!

December 2009 - Sent in Removal of Condition papers

February 2010 -Biometrics

March 2010- Received new greencard in mail

11/20/2010 - sent in N400 forms

12/21/2010 -did biometrics in Washington DC (really easy)

02/03/2011 - Appointment for Interview - passed exam but the officer said more information was needed and they would send me a letter. Still no letter received :(

5/10/2011 - Received note to appear for oath ceremony on 5/14/2011 (I guess no additional information was needed afterall :))

5/14/2011 - Oath ceremony (it was 3 hours long). Got certificate . . . YAY!!!!

Greetings All,

Today I had my interview in Philadelphia, Got there around 10:10AM for a 10:20AM appointment and was quickly called in by my IO within less than five minutes of waiting.

The IO swore me to tell the truth, went through the application and then printed out a sheet of 10 questions. He told me to only answer the first six questions which I had to answer by writing the answers under the question, absolutely no oral questions were asked whatsoever

Questions on the test were as follows:

1. What did the Declaration of Independence do?

2. Name one branch or part of the government.

3. We elect a U.S Senator for how many years?

4. If both the president and the vice president can no longer serve, who becomes President?

5. What does the Presidents Cabinet do?

6. How many justices are on the Supreme Court?

The IO followed up with a quick one liner that I had to write:

"Columbus Day is in October"..

And with a few clicks of the mouse he advised me that he was recommending my application and printed out my oath ceremony letter which is dated for 2/9/2011 (Next Wednesday)

I have to admit I was pretty impressed with Philly's processing times. Next Wednesday it will all be over!

I never heard of a interveiw where you had to write down your civics answers? Is this the norm cas I would "think"it be harder to speak english than to write it..

I just wonder is this interveiw the norm or can the io ask you to speak or write ya answers...

Soz if there is any typos here as I'm using my cell slide phone and I haven't a clue how most of the buttons work yet and this poxy keyboard with my dumpy fingers don't help neither...give me bk my pc tower any day...
