Personally? I'd let it linger until it ages out. Sometime after you get NOA2, he'll rec packet 3. I wonder what his reaction to that would be....

I'm terribly sorry you're going through this (F) But I totally believe that if it's really done, it just means that this wasn't for you...

I'm sorry this has happened to you. I'll never get how people can just suddenly do something like that without even considering the heartache it will inevitably leave behind. Classless if you ask me.

Anyway, take care of yourself and I hope better days are ahead for you.

I'm heartbroken. I don't know what happened. He called it off, says he doesn't want to be with me. Maybe he never loved me, but I sure loved him. My life feels like it's in complete shambles. I wish I could just wake up and this would all have been a bad dream. But unfortunately it's not.

I need to know what I have to do to close my k-1 petition. It's still at VSC waiting to be adjudicated. Please tell me I don't have to wait for my NOA2. I don't think I could stand to see it in the mailbox after all this heartbreak.

I am so so sorry to read this. But, isn't there hope? Maybe the stress of being apart got to him and he said something he did not mean. Could you further talk with him about his decision and his reasons to make sure this is a final decision? Once you are sure, you could call USCIS to find out the official way to request closing your petition. Yet, I still have hope that things may be sorted out! If not, remember that you have your VJ family still and that we are quite sympathetic and supportive of you.

Best wishes!

August 23, 2010 - I-129 F package sent via USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation.

August 30, 2010 - Per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) e-mail, petition received and routed to California Service Center for processing. Check cashed. I-797C Notice of Action by mail (NOA 1) - Received date 08/25/2010. Notice date 08/27/2010.

After 150 days of imposed anxious patience...

January 24, 2011 - Per USCIS website, petition approved and notice mailed.

January 31, 2011 - Approval receipt notice (NOA 2) received by mail. Called NVC, given Santo Domingo case number, and informed that petition was sent same day to consulate.

Called Visa Specialist at the Department of State every day for a case update. Informed of interview date on February, 16 2011. Informed that packet was mailed to fiance on February, 15 2011.

February 21, 2011 - Fiance has not yet received packet. Called 1-877-804-5402 (Visa Information Center of the United States Embassy) to request a duplicate packet in person pick-up at the US consulate in Santo Domingo. Packet can be picked-up by fiance on 02/28.

March 1, 2011 - Medical exam completed at Consultorios de Visa in Santo Domingo.

March 9, 2011 at 6 AM - Interview, approved!

March 18, 2011 - POE together. JFK and O'Hare airports. Legal wedding: May 16, 2011.

Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.

It might be a test , he is going to leave his whole country and live with you , so just hold on and be strong and we are all here for you , but i don't recommend you to wait until NOA2 , wait a month or something and see if he got back...if he didn't then he choose .

Btw , Thank god , he might been a bad person and you didn't know or he would do something to you after getting there or leaving after the visa..so what happened might be good .

Beautiful patience.

I'm so sorry to hear about this Amyyduck! I know how hard this process is, and to have him back out on you like that, that's awful. Still it's far better to have it happen now than after getting married. I know it probably doesn't make you feel any better though. :(

If I've read your story correctly, you are both still pretty young, maybe fresh out of college? He could just be having a freak-out and will come around. I would wait a week or two to see if anything changes. Maybe in time you'll come back to each other.

Good luck no matter what happens.

I'm the USC petitioner.

Oh my god, Amy... I'm so, so sorry. I hate to see this post coming from you. :( I wish you the best, and if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm around.

And Sam, we are simply trying to be here for a friend. Nobody here needs you to come in and start dictating our behaviour.
