Anyone see the new Macbook Air models yet?

I was at BestBuy tonight and saw the two new Macbook Air models, an 11" and a 13". I hate to say it but, they are nice. Well built, excellent screen quality and a touchpad that must be the best in the business. Now if only they were about $300 cheaper.

Haven't seen them, by any chance could either one be used as a weapon without damaging the computer?

They have flash storage so maybe, I'll need to try it out. Why don't you and BY go at it and I'll get a better idea.

They are knife shaped. I'll bet you could sharpen the front edge a bit and use it as a guillotine. I'm not an Apple guy at all, but I really was impressed with these new models. This is probably a preview of what the Macbook Pro's will end up like in the future. I really wish that there were some PC's with the build quality of the Macbooks. One thing about most laptops is poor screen quality, so-so touchpads and all plastic construction. Probably the nicest built pc I have seen is a Sony Vaio Z series, but they start around $1800 or so.

Macs are always the class of the field but I'm partial to Toughbooks, now those CAN be used as weapons.

That's what always bothered me about the smaller laptop/netbooks. I have above average eyesight and I want to keep it that way.

Well, my friend says the same with his old eyes. Consider the 15 or 17" Macbook Pro. Or the huge 27" iMac.

Hubby has a Macbook and loves it... though not the air one...I'm sure he'll be mentioning it shortly, since his Mac is like 2 years old and he's a new-shiny-gadget type of guy, lol.

But we do manage to type rather legibly despite our hirsute palms. The keys are a bit sticky though.
