Hi!

I just got my appointment in the mail today for an initial interview for next month (september). The thing is, I don't know if it would be possible to just appear on the interview alone. See, my husband is away right now. He's in Mississippi trying to finish his technical training with the Air Force and won't be done until October. He can't take days off because they are not allowed. And after he's done with his technical training, he still doesn't have enough free time because he'd be going to Virginia for his first assignment.

We also have 2 kids, and I know I've read in some of the forums that some have brought their children on the interview and some did not. But right now, I really have no clue about what to do on my interview next month.

Can I go to the interview alone? Should I also bring my kids with me or not?

Any advice would be of great help. Thank you so much again for all the help.

Chris

I am not sure where you would stand in your situation as on the AOS interview list it states that the spouse must be present at the interview. Perhaps you could schedule an Info Pass appointment and go along and ask them what you should do but I would be thinking that your interview will need to be cancelled if your husband can't be there and that puts a long delay on your case. Sorry hope I am wrong. :(

another member had the same issue (Stefanie). You may want to PM her as I do not recall the details, but she did have a successful interview without her husband since he was in boot camp.

thank you so much for the info lal_brandow. I already sent stefanie an e-mail, but no reply yet. I think they just moved to germany for their PCS (permanent change of station). Still waiting for reply.

i also tried to call the 1-800 number and asked for advice, they told me to appear for the interview and just bring proof that my husband can't make it due to his technical training.

thank you too, debby.
