Could this really be true?! I just checked the mail (quite late this Saturday evening) and found a letter from USCIS--the approval notice! Our I-130 was approved on October 25!! We were approved just shy of five months. We are pretty shocked since we've been compulsively checking the USCIS website and have seen no updates!

Now...time to focus on the paperwork for NVC.

When you check your account status on the USCIS website, check the date under "last updated." You consider your application to be 'touched' when this date changes. Who knows what 'touches' mean, though. Our application did not get touched any time near our approval date. Best of luck to you!
