dear friends,

i and my fiancee known each other for 1 year and 3 months now. last november 2009, i sent her a snail mail card for thanks giving day. and sent her another card for the christmas and new year. and for her birthday too. she has all the cards. she kept it. but threw the enveloped, we have no idea that sooner, if we go to immigration process and apply for my CR1 since we will marry this february, that we need those eneveloped. my question is. is there a way for her to call the postal office and obtain a record that I sent her cards? the enveloped she threw contains stamed from the postal services. can she asked the postal office there in the US to give her copies or records of the mails i sent? is that possible? i know it sounds ridiculous, but really, we have no idea untill i found this website. goodthing is, up to this point in time. we are saving everything we will need in the future..:D hope someone help us out..thanks guys..

She will not be able to get any records from the post office. Do not worry about the cards. They are more interested in phone bills, chat logs, emails, pictures and proof of having met within 2 years.

Yes keep/send the card as evidence.

The cards should have a dated stamped postmark put on it by the sending Post Office - that is a better evidence than the date you wrote.

Also in the future tell her to save all letters, envelope, cards, IM chat - ALL records. You should also do the same on your end, at the Post Office they will/should give you a receipt - same that.
