06/28/11 .. Mailed N-400 package via Priority mail with delivery confirmation

06/30/11 .. Package Delivered to Dallas Lockbox

07/06/11 .. Received e-mail notification of application acceptance

07/06/11 .. Check cashed

07/08/11 .. Received NOA letter

07/29/11 .. Received text/e-mail for biometrics notice

08/03/11 .. Received Biometrics letter - scheduled for 8/24/11

08/04/11 .. Walk-in finger prints done.

08/08/11 .. Received text/e-mail: Placed in line for interview scheduling

It's way too early to get nervous.

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . Hello everyone, it has been one month now since I completed biometrics and I haven't received a yellow letter nor an interview letter. I know this may depend on a variety of factors such as district office etc...but has anyone had a similar experience? :unsure:

In my case it took a month to get the yellow letter and another month to get the interview letter. Patience is a great virtue, especially with the USCIS.. we all know the feeling... join the club... :)

When I look at the timeline of most others from my district office, I find that they usually get interview letter much sooner. CVB, so you waited for a couple of months before you got your interview letter. Is this the norm in your district office?

I really don't know whether this the norm for my district office. I have no clue why it took longer than with some other districts. I know I got worried too and there is not really anybody to call at USCIS. They tell you what you already can read on the internet. Now, all together, my citizenship journey took a bit over 4 months, from the day I filed till my interview, which seems to be ok. I'm happy I live in an area where the district office (Newark) does a same day Oath Ceremony. No waiting after the interview and that is a relieve. I sometimes read that people have to wait for another three month between interview and oath. This must not be fun. I know it would stress me out. I want this over and done with so that I can concentrate on other things that live has to offer without this immigration thing in my system. It limits my freedom and that maybe is what annoys me the most.

I learned a lot from this journey. I spook English rather well when I came to the USA, was not poor and came from a white, christian western civilization. Still, I really got a cultural shock after living here. I didn't expect the cultural differences I have to deal with on a daily basis where that different. Maybe it's me... I don't know but I only can imagine what it must feel like, as an immigrant, when you don't speak the language very well, when you don't have money and when you come from a country with a non-western culture. I have the highest respect for those people. Must not be easy at all.
