RFE

So recieved RFE today for affidavit of support. Listed were the 3 things that must have been included:

1) original or certified copy of tax return for most recent tax year (we originally sent a normal photocopy- so this may have been the problem)

2) W2's, 1099s (we sent photocopies of his W-2 (maybe they want originals?), but what on earth is 1099's?? so maybe this was the problem as we didnt send it- whatever it is!)

3) letter from employer (this we did send)

So Im planning on sending the orignal tax return- but I need to know what the 1099 is- we dont seem to have one anywhere.

hmm just noticed a little X in a box on the left hand side by the list of things.Its at the top kind of near the tax return point, but not directly by it- im wondering if this is indicating that it is this I need to re-send? Anyone had an RFE and noticed the relevance of this little X ?

A 1099 is like a W2 tax form issued by banks and investments for IRA or CDs for tax reasons. If you dont have IRAs or CDs then you probbly dont have any 1099s.
