The states that I have lived in usually will accept your drivers license when registering at your town hall. Some states will actually allow you to registar on the day of the voting such as New Hampshire.

30th of September 2006 WEDDING

Doesn't your US citizen spouse know how to register? Just knew my wife to be and I wanted to be together, was a bit of discussion which country we would live in, but she wanted to come here. I guided her through the entire process, hell, I lived here all my life and know where to go and what to do.

But have to admit, when I visit her home country, dead lost with their laws, even when she explains them to me, they twist my brain, no wonder why she wanted to come here. All I know if you want anything done in a timely matter, need plenty of US bucks under the table to get it done. We didn't have to pay anyone here to get her register to vote, but sure had to pay dearly to the USCIS.

The USC spouse will not know what's needed to be done to register a new US citizen for voting.

I knew I had to go to DMV but from there I was sent to the Board of Elections of the Cook County, IL - they took a look at my naturalization certificate and gave me the form to fill out. Took close to two months before I got the voter registration card - that's IL for you.

Won't even go into early voting options - they sent me a card saying I could do it early and 1. the address they provided to go to wasn't even open - so I had to go to another address which 2. only worked until 5 pm while the card said it works 6 am to 7 pm Oct 12-28. I showed up at 5:20pm and they turned me away.

Since I am from Cook County, IL, the procedure is to go to a grave yard, copy a hundred year old name and use that. No ID's are necessary as long as you are voting for Daily.

Registering in a small Wisconsin town is different, "Oh, I know you, you're Nick's wife, and I have seen you around town, nice to meet you, you're registered."

Too late to register to vote for this election cycle, but you can always go to your County clerks office for register to Vote, and after you register to vote only thing you will need is a Photo ID which can be your Driving licence, US passport or any othe government issued Photo ID to vote, I hope this helps, Good Luck...!!!

Asked my wife if she wanted to vote last night, said she was tired and maybe thinking of Venezuela that takes all day to vote with a bunch of Hugo's puppets standing around with AK-47's. I said lets stop, we were in and out in less than three minutes. Her name was in the books, two of them, they quickly found her name, no ID required, just asked she lived at our address, she said yes, handed her the ballot, plenty of open voting booths, just had to draw a line for your choices, and were done. Plenty of free parking.

She thinks I am funny, when I comment its time to move further north when there are five or six cars ahead of us at a traffic signal, or one or two people ahead of us in a check out lane. Say this place is getting as bad as Caracas. Spend six years of my life waiting in long lines in the military, sick of it. While she lived on 20 km from work in Venezuela, at times it took her over six hours to drive home. We already got stuck in that mad traffic breathing the worse exhaust fumes in the world, to me, that is no way to spend your short time on this earth.
