What happy news for you and your fiancée, Trinilad! May the next steps be as quick and painless as this one was...

:)

January 2004: Met Laurent at the Bibliothèque nationale in Paris

February 2004: We became an actual couple

January 29th, 2006: I left France to return to the United States--AWFUL to say goodbye!

June 2006: Finally convinced Laurent that a K-1 visa would be more time-effective than trying to get an H-1

August 1st, 2006: The K-1 petition is finally in the mail and on its way to Nebraska...WooHoooo!! And yes, I remembered to attach the check! :-)

August 3rd, 2006: USPS online tracking shows that my petition (sent certified) was received at the NSC at 5:05am

August 14th, 2006: NOA1 received USPS!! (I-129F recv'd at CSC: 8/4; NOA date: 8/10; last touched: 8/11)

October 2nd, 2006: I MISTAKENLY thought we had an approval...False alarm...Back to waiting...

October 3rd, 2006: TOUCHED!!

October 4th, 2006: REALLY AND TRULY APPROVED!!! Email notification lists 10/3 as the NOA2 date.

Later that same day: TOUCHED...AGAIN! Hope that means I'm in a cozy box and moving to NVC this week...

October 10th, 2006: Received official NOA2 via snail mail.

October 19th, 2006: Case received at NVC!! AWESOME!!

October 20th, 2006: Case forwarded to Paris!! DHL says two shipments were headed that way. Must be in there somewhere...

October 27th, 2006: Received official receipt letter from NVC via USPS.

Trinilad - I with you... it's such a shame that we have to endure this type trauma. I'm sure that a few choice psychiatrists would diagnose us all with something. The constant checking, re-checking of email accounts and the USCIS website, calling, rushing home checking the mailbox and the list goes on... I mean the list GOES ON. I think that we have all partially lost are marbles during the ordeal and the only cure is the one thing that we're longing for the most... our loved ones. Don't get me wrong... this process still sucks!!! See ya around cyberspace.

Congratulations Trinila..............Go VSC!!!!!!

Often times, i read on the pages of VJ people wanting folks at service centers and district offices to get with it. I think we often forget (Love may blindside us sometimes, i reckon) that these fellows/ladies represent simply another microcosm of the larger society...you know.....regular folks (not superhumans) that have their "off days"...look around your own offices and perhaps you can relate......bad hair day, tough time with a boss or supervisor, kids getting into trouble..being sick etc etc........u get the picture...Hey some officers may even be going through a nasty divorce. Would that officer be so inclined and motivated to work at the same pace as another officer somewhere enjoying the bliss of being recently engaged or married? I doubt it! The variables to the timelines are as many as they are diverse.

While we hold our breaths and wait for the "word" that allows us exhale, we must take some moments and pause as we think about the lives of these officers. I read through the prayer brigade section....not all comments....but i noticed there were not so many prayers directed to these folks who are, in my opinion, regular every-day folks. I would pray that they find love, peace and joy in their lives before summoning God to make their hands work faster.

Okay, Immigration folks....see i have sounded off on your behalf...now can i get some love???? :lol:

i would certainly disagree on this arugument that if we have a bad day then we can make mistakes during our routine work. if this is the case then i guess one should resign or dont come to the office on that particular day. lets say if a dr has a fight with her wife then does it give him some reason to make any mistake during an operation? a soldies carrying a gun can fire randomly bcz his gf slept with another guy? an immigration officer get mad at her wife and in reaction srew innocnet lives?

I-130 petition in DCFR Tokyo: March 14th 2004. Case reffered to DHS USCIS

Four visits to japan in 2004: Oct 2004, wife got pragnant.

Wife/Fiance left USA and moved into Japan: Feb 5th 2005.

Baby Born: June 24th 2005(Japan)

I-130 denied: July 17 2005(Divorce was declared not valid)

Refiling Divorce: oJuly 17th 2005 NY State.

Divorce granted: Nov 17th 2005

K-1 application: Mar 1st 2006
