I filed my I-130 in September (married in June), sent it to the Chicago lock box address. Got USPS mail return receipt

showing it had been signed for on September 26. I included the form for email/text messsage notification, and I have

heard zero from them. No mail NOA, nothing. What should I do?

Mine had taken 21 days and I was in panic too.

Since yours is 4 weeks now, you can follow the below:

1) Send an email to Lockboxsupport@dhs.gov with all the details such as name of both petitioner and beneficiary with DOB, address, delivered date etc.

2) If your payment is by personal check, go to your bank and see if it is cleared out

3) If check is cleared, some people have said they could see the Receipt# on the back side of it.

4) Also check your spam folder for any mails from Chicago Lockbox

If all fails, contact USCIS. I think there is an opton without the receipt# to reach them.

OK, my check cleared on October 1. I got a scan of the back of the check, and there are lots of numbers, but nothing that looks like a case number. No 13 digit numbers.

Is there anything that starts with WAC or EAC? I tried to look back at my cashed check to see if it had the receipt number on there, but stupid Wells Fargo apparently deleted my account history when they took over Wachovia  .

No WAC or EAC letters at all. Lots of groups of numbers, which appear to be bank routing numbers...no 13 digit strings though.

I just viewed my scanned check that was cashed yesterday. I also received the emailed "USCIS Acceptance Confirmation" with Receipt number.

I can see clearly that the receipt number was NOT printed on the check

Good Luck!

See thats what has me concerned. My check was cashed on October 1. I should have received an "USCIS Acceptance Confirmation" at that time, but didn't.

You don't have to be panic now.

The check clearance is the indication that your petition is accepted. I have seen that if the petition is not accepted in the "initial stage", they will return the entire package with the check back to the petitioner.

Now, about email notification - their system is not completely reliable. Don't worry on this!

Now about NOA1 - If you live in an apartment with no name on the mailbox, chances are there the mail man to deliver it or not. Some will deliver, but I have experienced in the past that my NOA1 went back (in 2008) and I requested again to the USCIS. You can also do it. Talk to them (possibly to Tier2) and request for a copy for your records and tell them that you have never received it.

Also, don't worry about the receipt# on the backside of the cleared check. It happens to only few of them. I didn't have it on the back side of the check.

Good luck!

OK, I sent the lockbox support an email inquiry, and got this reply, and it seems my case was accepted so now what do I do, it was accepted a month ago. Will I get notification when to send money and financial data, etc? I'm already a month into the process, it seems.

Here is a copy of the email I got....I have removed the case number.

Good Morning:

Thank you for your inquiry.

Your petition was accepted on September 30 and issued receipt number WACxxxxxxxxxx.

A duplicate receipt notice was sent to you on November 2.

You can follow the progress of this petition by visiting our website, www.uscis.gov, and clicking on Check My Case Status. You can call USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283 or use the InfoPass system on our website to make an appointment at your local USCIS office if you have any questions. Once a form has been accepted, the Lockbox has no information on the adjudication process.

We trust these sources will be helpful to you.

So, everything is working for you, huh? :star: Glad to hear it!

Since your case is with California Service Center, you can expect your approval in an around 147 days from the receipt date (In fact 5 months, I wanted to be more precise :star: )

Now sit idle. Meanwhile you can read the process until the interview here - http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/EZGuideSpouse

I wonder why my case went to California. I live in Arkansas. I would have thought Vermont?

Chicago Lockbox routes the case and we don't have any control in it.

Many people live in East coast have the same routing like yours.

However, mine went to VSC.
