I'm ignorant because I haven't seen Al Gore's movie? It's propaganda and you know it. He did invent the internet though. So I have mixed feelings.

I know the USA has a Air Base there, but like if its Bush's fault that Global Warming is melting Greenland, you know because we pollute and never signed the Kyoto treaty--like if its Bush and the USA's fault that Greenland should actually turn ###### Green, then I think we should be able to have sovereignty over this new less than artic land mass--you think of all the wheat and potatoes we could grow, all the walmarts and starbucks we could build there, not to mention cluster homes and we need the space--all these illegal aliens are taken over, and its too dangerous to live in the gulf coast--what with all the 26 hurricanes we are supposed to have this year because of Global Warming--oh yeah its almost the anniversary date of Katrina--and we have had just one ###### hurricane and two named storms. Oh well can't count out fuzzy math, chaos theory and politically motivated sciene.

Well, darlings, I stand by an offer I made about a month ago. If anyone goes to see An Inconvenient Truth and can construct a rebuttal after that (you know, using evidence from any scientist anywhere in the world, even those sponsored by Bush), I WILL reimburse you for the movie.

What do you have to lose? Less than two hours of your life seems worth it (since it could save you a lot of embarrassment).

In fact, when CO2 levels were over ten times higher than they are now, about 450 million years ago, the planet was in the depths of the absolute coldest period in the last half billion years." Patterson asked the committee, "On the basis of this evidence, how could anyone still believe that the recent relatively small increase in CO2 levels would be the major cause of the past century's modest warming?"

Patterson concluded his testimony by explaining what his research and "hundreds of other studies" reveal: on all time scales, there is very good correlation between Earth's temperature and natural celestial phenomena such changes in the brightness of the Sun.

Dr. Boris Winterhalter, former marine researcher at the Geological Survey of Finland and professor in marine geology, University of Helsinki, takes apart Gore's dramatic display of Antarctic glaciers collapsing into the sea. "The breaking glacier wall is a normally occurring phenomenon which is due to the normal advance of a glacier," says Winterhalter. "In Antarctica the temperature is low enough to prohibit melting of the ice front, so if the ice is grounded, it has to break off in beautiful ice cascades. If the water is deep enough icebergs will form."

The article you used was an anti-global warming column (which offers no counterarguments, but simply shows a few scientists who disagree with Gore's film, and tries to pass them off as the scientific establishment), which managed to cite the research of probably 80% of scientists who believe global warming is false (you know, all 10 of them or so).

And the source looked like a low-budget rag, although I am not familiar with it.

I have NO IDEA why this is a political issue. Honestly.
