My FIANCÉ HAD HIS INTERVIEW ON 10/26/2010 AND WAS DENIED THE VISA. ACCORDING TO THE LETTER THAT THEY GAVE HIM HE WAS DENIED UNDER SECTION 221g. FROM WHAT MY FIANCÉ SAID HE BELIEVED THAT WE WERE DENIED BECAUSE THE OFFICER DIDN'T BELIEVE WE HAVE A BONA FIDE RELATIONSHIP. HE HAD ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND EVIDENCE SUCH AS EMAILS, CALL LOGS, MSN, CHAT AND PHOTOS. TODAY I EMAILED THE EMBASSY REQUESTING THAT THAT THE CHIEF IMMIGRATION OFFICER REVIEW THE APPLICATION. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING ..... IF ANYONE HAS ANY ADVICE ID APPRECIATE IT.

The 221g is a request for additional information. To offer meaningful advice, we'll need to know exactly what the 221g form says -- what blanks on it are checked, etc. Hang in there... and please avoid typing in ALL CAPS.

Very sorry to hear that! I know that must be VERY frustrating right now!!! I was wondering if you could provide us with more info so that we could possible try to understand WHY the visa was denied? How did you meet? How long did you know each other? How often did you contact each other? How many visits have you made? Is there a large age difference? Just a few things that I have "heard" the consider during the interview... If given all the details, although I'm certainly NO EXPERT at all, someone on the site might be able to offer some suggestions of evidence to provide. Best of luck!

Well we met on Facebook in October of 2009, and we contacted each other by phone, email and via web cam. We talk to each other every day since the first day we started communicating on Facebook.I have made one visit to see my fiancé, for 21 days. I had used my vacation time for 2010, so I would not be able to go till 2011. My fiancé is 34 years old and I'm 36 years old.

Thanks for responding

Well, they can't use an age difference as their excuse. Some other Moroccan members will surely be along to give you some consulate-specific advice. Meanwhile, read the "embassy info" and "reviews: embassy" links (atop every VJ screen) for Casablanca, to gain some insights.

how much evidence did you take for the interview?Casablanca is considered a high fraud consulate,so they are really hard on petitioners.your age difference is not that big of an issue either.

how did the interview go?

My fiancé took about 40 photos of the time I visited him, emails that go back to November 2009, letters that i had mailed to him, call logs, phone bills and chat messages. My fiancé said the an Asian lady interviewed him and was very rude to him. He said that he could tell that she did not like him at all.

A notice citing 221(g) is frequently a request for additional documents or evidence, but this one is a denial. What's more, it doesn't specify why the visa was denied. It only states the petition is being returned to USCIS. Unfortunately, it may be a while before you find out why it was denied, or you might never find out.

The last I heard, the VSC was still readjudicating returned petitions. Dunno if that's changed. If they do readjudicate the petition then they'll either reaffirm it or send you a notice of intent to revoke or deny the approval of the petition. If they reaffirm it then it will go back to the consulate, and your fiance will get another interview. If they send you a notice of intent then you'll find out why the consulate refused the visa, and you'll have a limited amount of time to file a rebuttal.

12/15/2009 - K1 Visa Interview - APPROVED!

12/29/2009 - Married in Oakland, CA!

08/18/2010 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!

05/01/2013 - Removal of Conditions - APPROVED!
