Is this a good Idea?

Hi All,

Please tell me if this is a good idea or not? I'm going to India next week and coming back on Dec 1st. I bought my tickets while ago thinking my wife's case will complete and she will have her visa by November since I applied in Feburary. But unfortunately her interview is on Nov 29th. That's right two days before I come back from India. I'm not sure what to do now. The plan was to bring her along with me on Dec 1st.

Now I'm thinking of taking one more week off and extending my stay for a week. But my question is can I buy my wife's airline ticket before her interview? I'm 99% sure that she will get her visa. Also another question is that, Can you request for them to give you the visa in your hand? From what I know they usually mail your visa home and I'm not sure how long it take for my wife to get visa via mail? Does anyone one know? Her interview is in Delhi and she lives in Punjab.

Any help on this will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Cheema

You should extend 1 week for the return trip from Dec 1st. If visa is granted, VFS courier will normally deliver it in 4 to 5 business days. Check with VFS any counter collection option is available as well.

It is perfectly ok to buy the ticket in advance for her too, provided the same 99% assurance.

Thank you for the quick response.

I will get in touch in VFS office in Jalandhar and see what options they have available. Also going to buy her ticket once I change mine.

Thanks again and Good luck.

Yup Mr. Loto is right. Extend ur ticket for 1 week. Also if u r sure then u can buy ticket for ur wife. I want to let u know that if ur airlines is Air India, then in case if u need to change ur or ur wife date then u need to pay $125 as a date change penalty. I hope ur wife will get visa on that day.In mumbai the counter collection facility is available,so check with delhi consulate or VFS in Delhi.Once again goooood luck.

Thanks

If you have bought tickets for AI in some class, the first change is free.

So confirm with airlines :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:
