Sorry hate to ask, only want the best for everyone. I'm trying to think the worst and hope for the best for my wife and everyone on VJ.

From what I have seen during the last year, many couples who have a bad experience tend not to post much if they are denied at interview. This is not always the case, but often will happen. I was helping a guy all of the way up to his interview and then he fell off of the radar, however I could see that he was still logging on, just not talking to anyone. SO, I assume that they hit a bump at their interview and his wounded pride kept him from letting us know what really happened.

Yup, this is the same pattern that I run across. It's sad, really, as any GUZ IV 'activity' , reported on here at VJ, is worth it's weight in gold, IMO, for future filers.

Now, going forward, here's some 'heavy reading material' for 'knowledge by osmosis' -

Good Luck ! GUZ IV can be hard, but if yer prepped and ready, you'll be OK !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I attended my wife's interview and the experience was both good and bad. Good that I attended or she might not be with me right now! In terms of bad experiences, as my wife was called to the window for her interview, I walked up with her. The CO just stared at me and my wife stated that, this is my husband. The CO said, I don't need you, sit down! So, of course I sat. About 2 mins later my wife came and got me by request of the CO because the CO kept telling her that your husband doesn't pay taxes which even she knew as untrue. She was asked to get me and I was accused of not paying US taxes which was ludicrous working for the US govt. I denied the accuracy of that info and after battling over it for a minute she told us both to sit down. Prior to that, the CO asked my wife my income which she was fully knowledgeable of and and was told that she was incorrect numerous times until finally the CO states, oh ok, you're correct to her. They had my offer letter, 6 months of pay stubs, etc. While waiting, I overheard so many not so good comments made to others interviewing such as: "So you came to America just to have sex and marry an American", "I see in the system that you provided fraudulent bank statements the last time you applied for a visa" to another, amongst others. My wife and I were held to late in the afternoon where we finally had an opportunity to be interviewed by whom I think was a Kenyan Foreign Service National working as a CO who provided an opportunity for us to prove our case and listen to us which was not previously afforded. It went extremely well and the visa was awarded that very afternoon. He stated that indeed this is a true marriage after seeeing a year and a half of Western Union receipts from my sending money, pictures with her and her family, gifts, letters, etc. The initial CO tried to say that we still had a problem because our police certificate was expired which was not true. NVC held our papers forever before scheduling. This would have caused us hell, especially due to how long it takes to receive and my wife is from Uganda not Kenya. The cost would be ridiculous and I had to return to work asap. Was about too lose it but again kept my composure. She looked again and indicated that we still have close to 28 days before it expired and told them we were leaving the following day and all was cool.

This was the most frustrating day of my life! Honestly! However, it was all worth it to be with my wife. Good luck on your journey. There is alot more I can add but this gives an idea of thee challenge that many face but not all. Depends on the country, Embassy, your situation, relationship and so many other factors that you may not even contemplate. Honestly, no one caan tell you whether you will have it easy or hard, get approved or denied! Good luck!

My girl had the Interview, Dec 2009, denied. What I think is important is that my girl needs to understand everything I submit for the Visa, and knows how to explain the answer, not just give the answer. The question was asked, "what was my job title". My girl said, "sales". I was a supervisor for a Sales Company. The Officer was looking for the word, "Supervisor". My girl was well aware of what I worked at 28 years. Question #2 that was asked twice was, "how many times I sent money". Answer given, "5", which was correct. I had sent 1 wire transfer, and 4 Western Union. I believe the Officer did not see the receipt of the wire transfer, only the 4 Western Union receipts. Giving correct answers is not always, just enough.

My advice with Guz, is to study,,study,,study... Some times Guz is very easy and some times very difficult. When I first started researching the Visa process, I knew nothing of the process. Reading on this site everyday, I still learn very much everyday. Good Luck...Bob
