I dont know if I can wear ornaments like Manga sutra(chain) in my neck? Can I wear a bindi (dot) on my forhead?

These are good questions...I would like to know as well.

My guess is that it is the same requirement as a US passport picture. The details for passport pictures are easily found online.

I read their requirments for the pic. But it did not say about the earrings/mangal sutra/chain/ bindi/ mascara and foundation.

Do they mention these criterias anywhere officially?

Not that I have seen anywhere. Mainly they need your face clear from obstruction, both ears visible, and the only head dress allowed is relious type worn on a daily basis. The bindi is considered religious, yes? Then I would venture a guess that if it is worn on a daily basis it would be allowed. I could be wrong...and would suggest that you call your nearest photo shop who takes US passport photos, and ask the question to them.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the photo shop people give varied answers. Any experience here online???

I know it may be a hit or miss question but I just want to make sure I dont miss any fine details since getting another pic will be hard on the day of Interview.

Why not just get it with nothing but minimal makeup? Then there is nothing to worry about.
That's common sense you are speaking there, Henykat, and we can't have any of that. STOP IT.
