I'm doing ok, just got out of the hospital... Had my appendix removed. It was really bad. How are you guys doing??

I can't read my own writing. Trying to figure out what "ucaudravclious" could be? :lol: surely it's actually a real word and I just can't read my own writing? otherwise I really need to work on my note taking skills.

still haven't finished :dead:

I took off my fake nails tonight and my fingers feel so short now. Or maybe it's just a weird feeling because my fingertip is actually touching the things I press instead of the nail. I dunno. Anyways, bad news for my social life...for some reason I decided to check the mail at 2am (I didn't go out and get it yesterday) and my new schedule for next semester came. I'm in class Monday-Friday from 8am-3pm because I have lectures and labs every day of the week. No more sleeping late or going to the gym at midnight.

That is such a horrible feeling. I can't stand it and always feel like something is terribly wrong.

It is actually freezing here....small little flurries are blowing helter skelter this morning, and yes they are sticking to the ground. :help:

I'm so happy it's not just me with the weird no nail thing. They needed to be filled in but I can't have them on when I have surgery so I decided to go ahead and take them off now.

I wonder why you can't have them on for surgery? Even one of my piercings and rings stay on. they don't like it, but I tell them there is no way the 2 rings ( the others I can easily remove ) will not come off unless they chop off my finger. The piercing never gets noticed. I just ask them for paper tape and wrap up the rings.

They use your nails to check blood oxygenation. the anesthesiologist doesn't even want nail polish on so he can see my nail bed.

I was on my phone and didn't want to type the whole thing about nails and surgery :P They use your nails to check capillary refill. If you press on your nail you can see it goes white under it. When you stop pressing it pinks back up fairly quicky (or at least it should). They use this to check that your circulation is still good. Also those things they place in your fingertip to check blood oxygenation work much better on clean nails. Another thing is bacteria. If it's an elective procedure and the surgeon has a very very low infection rate it's because he is VERY clean. One of the things that is huge as far as being "clean" is the nails. Lots of bacteria lives under those fake nails even if you are a super clean person. Same with under nail polish.

0h, ok. The reason I asked is because they never said anything to me ever about the nail thing. It's always allowed.
