so you all know I've been sick for awhile now, mainly upper respiratory stuff so I didn't think much of it. I went to the dr today after having insane coughing fits for the past few days. I have whooping cough.

Oh no, I did not know you were ill . Are you taking anything for this ? Get lots of REST!

BTW, I went to the urologist Tues. and he called yesterday and come to find out I have an infection ( K. U. B. ). I NEVER have any signs or warnings, so who knew ?? So Amby, you were right.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

BTW, I went to the urologist Tues. and he called yesterday and come to find out I have an infection ( K. U. B. ). I NEVER have any signs or warnings, so who knew ?? So Amby, you were right.

I've been sick with this respiratory/sinus stuff for almost a month. I just figured it was allergies but turns out it was stage 1 pertussis. they gave me zithromax to take for 2 weeks instead of the regular zpack 5 day thingy. since they caught it early-ish that may help shorten the duration, but if it doesn't, I can expect this crazy coughing to last anywhere from 1 week to 2 months :blink: the main thing they're worried about is my breating because I have asthma that really only bugs me when I'm sick. as long as I'm getting enough oxygen and my bronchial tubes cooperate they said I can stay home. the contagious part is over since the coughing has already started so they're not worried about me spreading it to anyone.

I was right! YAY! Maybe I will be a good dr after all :P btw fever is a warning sign of infection!

PS. you get that infection under control!

I have Cipro ....but it is still at the pharmacy. :blush:

You are in NYC, I thought all that urine on the walls would have killed off everything. tongue.gif I've been scratching my head over the epidemiology of pertussis. Cipro aggravates my GERD so they had to put it on my file as an allergy lol
