I've been doing homework since 6am :dead: I keep taking short breaks so I don't get burnt out or fall asleep. I have years of no sleep to look forward to!

I sent my visitors away to have breakfast and then they're going to visit other people for most of the day :)

My research partner is coming over tonight so we can go over stuff. At least I will have a brain strain buddy later!

What's everyone up to today?

you wanna know what motivates me? I am a complete freak about grades. I know grades don't really matter when you're out of school but I would flip if I didn't get an A in something. being smart has kinda always defined me. doing really well in school without any effort was easy for me until I started med school. now there's just sooooooooooo much to learn and soooo much to memorize. since I never had to study it's a huge process of teaching myself to actually do it. plus I have my own research to do on top of all of the stuff required for school. it's a lot. luckily I have a great research partner who is quite a bit older than me. he went to school for biochemistry years ago and ended up working in a factory for like 15 years. he got carpal tunnel so bad he couldn't work anymore. on a whim he decided he wanted to go to med school. he took the mcat 3 times before he got a really competitive score.
