I just don't know why they didn't give her all the vaccinations on the spot. Now we have to reschedule, buy another plane ticket and worry about accommodation in Moscow. Maybe she misunderstood them or something.

Can you all read my letter to the embassy too? do you think this will be frowned up on now? I am just so lost. we were hoping to be together by Christmas, and of course this is shot down. Mind is racing right now.

She DID NOT go to the interview. Not sure why just yet, but she didn't.

I don't understand why she would be scamming me. As with your significant others I do not know the whole situation. I don't know what the scam is here. It's not like I am dumb enough to send her $10,000. I know you all are not trying to pass judgment, and just looking out for my best interest, and ultimately my heart. I just don't think this is possible. Maybe she had cold feet, but at the same time I would have went to the interview too with or without any papers.

Where is this other person who was scammed like this? Is there a post for him/her? I just want to see if there are any similarities here.

I thought it was a little suspicious because of the other post Alla mentioned, however if you didn't give her a lot of cash and medical facility offered to do the vaccines for a fee (confusing K1 with spouse VISA) and she didn't have the cash on her to do it maybe that explains the confusion and not going to the interview? Depending on her pride factor maybe the reason she didn't call you, didn't want to admit she could not afford it?

Yes that is a lot of "ifs", however some of us are romantics and want to extend the benefit of the doubt for the sake of a happy ending.. no pun intended :)

If on the other hand, you gave her the cash to buy her own ticket and lots of additional cash.. and our standards of "lots" of cash are different from their standards of "lots of cash" then perhaps there is concern for a scam brewing.

I hope that is not the case.

Cool. Just sayin, don't ignore stuff from this point on.

He said he hasn't sent her a bunch of money and he believes it was just a mistake.

It's possible that there was one Russian girl in all of Russia who wasn't aware of how the K-1 visa process works. I mean, just based on sheer numbers alone you'd think there'd be one out there. Maybe she was the one.

I hopw so. Of course your scenario means she is "the one" AND she ran into the "one" medical clerk that gives bad info. Cuts the odds just a bit.

At any rate...Yep, I hope it is just a mistake and I hope that the correct information you have been given here ( ) will assist you in your visa journey.

It was just recently. Birdman200 or something like that started the thread about a denied K-1 visa. The cases are not really similar except that there was an attempt by his fiancee to keep things going (he WAS sending money) It is stil an active thread here on the forum and should be on page one of the RUB forum.

I am going to call the embassy late tonight as soon as they open in Moscow to get the interview rescheduled. I just have this huge pit in my stomach right now. We were on our way to seeing each other by Christmas, but we will have to wait a little longer. I realize it is a difference in cultures. I myself would have gone to the interview, but again cultures, and me not being in Tanya's shoes. Ultimately this could work out better. I just accepted a new job yesterday with a new company, so at this rate by the time she gets here I would be settle in to my new job, and there is opportunity to work from home for a few days a week once trained, so this could work out. Either way I know things will work out, but having reservations about this incident I think is normal. She is a great girl. I forgot to mention she bought dolls for my two nieces as well, she also has an email relationship with my mom, sister, 3 aunt's and 2 cousins. I think she just was confused. It's not like we do this every day, and without you all here I don't know where I would be right now. Chicken without a head comes to mind. ha ha. I will talk to her more when I see her tonight. I'll be much more relaxed I'm sure.

Well to put this in to perspective I sent her a one-time $1500. $550 of this was for the plane to Moscow, which I can confirm cost this much. $350 for the visa and another $160 for the physical. So right there we are over a grand. Of course the visa was not granted, but it's not entirely too much, and that is the second time. The other time was for our meeting in Egypt. It's not that much in the grand scheme of things. She has never, I repeat NEVER, asked for money. Even 6 months ago when her sister tore a tendon and the family did not have money for the operation. I offered to help because I have talked to her sister several times, and wanted to help, but she did not want anything. She told me not to send anything because it is not my problem. I tried to help, but she would not let me. that has to count for something, right?

I gave it the benefit of the doubt at first but now I would be VERY suspicious.

I too find it hard to believe there was no communication between the OP and her from the interview date until just recently about the interview not being attended.

I can only vouch for my own relationship with my then fiancee. We had been Skyping (video style) virtually every day for months prior or on the phone at a minimum every day (actually our emailing with each other became non-existant for about three months prior to the first interview, we had to resked ours). And we had from the beginning established SMS texting with each other, which we did virtually every day during the entire K-1 process. I knew within 20 minutes of her leaving the Embassy of the result (got 221g but they kept the passport).

So I too find it hard to believe that she was in Moscow for 5 days and took until she got back home to tell the OP that she had not gone to the interview. Something doesn't seem right about it.

FWIW I can assure you Alla would have fainted away dead if she had to go to the interview herself and she may have easily been scared off also. They hear stuff from people they THINK should know better at it is all over but the shouting. I hope it all works out.

I am really pulling for you BUT what confirmation do you have she went to Moscow, the medical, etc.? She would not pay for the visa unless she went to the interview UNLESS eh apid at the bank and then her receipt is still valid for the next interview.

Just when I want to give it the benefit of the doubt, she gets all suspicious again.

Call the medical clinic and see if she arrived for the medical.

I would agree. Regardless of the tone of my previous posts, something is telling me you just had a slightly afraid woman, alone in the very big city, who may not be a big city girl, just running a little scared. I can just imagine and do know that Alla saw similar types in line for her inteview date and has spoken on the phone to give advice to others who would trust any authoritative type and not just follow the prescribed plan. My Alla even had take the time to visit to the Embassy prior to the actual date, to the DHL office, probably counted off the number of steps in between.....all part of that Sparrow School training.

She must have taken a refresher course when she was just back in Russia the last five weeks; I notice an increased vigor?!! :blush:B-)

PLEASE PAY ATTENTION! The OP is filing for a K-1 FIANCEE visa. Vaccinations ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR A K-1 VISA! YOU have a CR-1...it is NOT THE SAME! Vaccinations ARE required for the CR-1 because it is an IMMIGRANT VISA, the K-1 is a NON-IMMIGRANT VISA.

Your post serves no pupose but to confuse the OP.

While completed vaccinations are not required for a K-1 visa medical, I believe a vaccination history of some nature is required to take and complete the medical exam.

See I am really trying to give here the benefit of the doubt too. I don't want to be all investigative on her, but at the same time I need to ask her, but also do the leg work myself. She is 11 hours ahead of me here in PA, so when she was leaving for the airport we talked for 10 minutes at 4 in the afternoon here, 0300 her time. She was going to the airport. It is about an hour train ride, and her plane was leaving early. I can ask her for her ticket, but this could tick her off a little. I think it would tick me off as well.

I mean she arrived Wednesday sometime and then had to find the medical building and do a physical, then be ready for an interview the next day and find the embassy. The problem with calling the clinic is I do not speak Russian. so might be a little useless. ha ha. I would have much rather went a day or two in advance as well, but she works hard, and I know she got to Kemerovo late last night, then went to work today.

I think the biggest thing now is not to question her trust, but to question what we need to do now. Of course I have questions of why this and why that, but what's done is done and we both have to work through this and get to the next step. So tonight I will call the embassy and try to get her interview rescheduled, not worry about the vaccination record, or maybe even ask them about this, maybe think about going to Moscow to meet up with her, and just try to work through this. I think I am getting warped with thinking she is not being true when I know she is. I do not have ALL the facts just yet, so I think I need to get these first and move from there.

I also hope everything works out, and that this was all just a big mistake that you will completely forget about in the future. But judging from your replies, you are clearly worried whether you trust her. Forgive me for asking, but do you two have an "intimate" relationship at this stage, or were you hoping that stage would develop after she came to be with you in America?

Sorry, but I'm confused. She went to the medical and instead of staying the additional day for the interview took a flight home and was at work the next day?

There is some chance that the location that does the medical has personnel that speak English since they do business with the Embassy and might even provide medical services to the Embassy personnel as well. You can call and ask to speak to someone it won't hurt and may ease your mind.
