Yeah they mean your resume, effectively. I have seen this on here a few times, is your affidavit of support close to the poverty line by chance? It seems they sometimes ask for cvs to be able to assess the earnings potential of the beneficiary in the future. Also, a cv has contact details of past jobs (for references), maybe they want to check up on your backgrounds.

They asked for hers(beneficiary), not mine...I think I initially wrote our CV...No I am way above poverty line.

I wouldn't waste my time because it means, curriculum vitae.. as others have said. Basically it's her resume. Some consulates ask for it. I'm not sure why, I just know it happens.

Yes you are right ,i already told him it means is curriculum vitae.I have also heard that sometimes they ask for it.

As others have stated it means curricula vitae. But it is different than just a employment resume. In the US, it generally contains academic information as well, mainly for post graduate work.

Yeah a CV is usually something that's used in an academic setting. For example, back when I was contemplating doing a PhD, the adviser asked for my CV.

They are asking for a CV because with some countries they want to know exactly what type of work the beneficiary has been/is involved in. For example, an Iranian nuclear scientist would be on the 'radar' of the US Government. This is the governments way of further screening persons from countries of interest to 'protect' us from potential threats.
