Hello.. Need some information that hopefully someone on VJ can help me with. My fiance is from the UK but works out of the country... he plans on going to the UK in a few weeks to visit his family for a bit, and would like to try to get his medical exam done taken care of... We arent sure he can do this as we have yet to receive out NOA2 (NOA1 date of 2July2010) Can he schedule the medical yet or does he need to wait? Also, if he can schedule it now, what paperwork is he required to take with him? Thanks in advance for any information anyone can offer!!

He will need a letter from the NVC that he will take with him to the medical facility were his medical examination will be done. This letter will be sent to your husband once your case is completed at the NVC.

Can't schedule it until petition is on to London.

Umm, Are you sure your interview will be in London? If the beneficiary works in another country, and put that address on the petition forms, then they may be getting the interview in THAT country and would do the medical there...You need the embassy case number before you can schedule the medical, and for London it starts with LDN (Or LND? sigh, I can't remember)

If you are going through London, there's some current speculation that they won't assign the appointment for the interview until after the medical is completed, so you can wait for the packet 3 instructions to come, but not the interview letter in order to find out your case number and that it's the right time etc.

K-1:

January 28, 2009: NOA1

June 4, 2009: Interview - APPROVED!!!

October 11, 2009: Wedding

AOS:

December 23, 2009: NOA1!

January 22, 2010: Bogus RFE corrected through congressional inquiry "EAD waiting on biometrics only" Read about it here.

March 15, 2010: AOS interview - RFE for I-693 vaccination supplement - CS signed part 6!

March 27, 2010: Green Card recieved

ROC:

March 1, 2012: Mailed ROC package

March 7, 2012: Tracking says "notice left"...after a phone call to post office.

The Knightsbridge doctors office will want to know the LND number when scheduling the appointment. You can't get that until the I129F petition is approved. It is assigned at the NVC before they send the files to London. You can call NVC (after NOA2) and ask them for the number by giving your current USCIS case number

.

Since that is just the policy of the doctor's office (not official embassy rules), he might want to call them and explain that he is only in the country for a short time and wants to get his medical done. They might make an exception and hold off sending the results to the embassy until he calls back to provide the LND number. That he would do after he received Packet 3 instructions in the mail from London (which could be 3 or 4 weeks after it actually gets there. It never hurts to ask.
