Hello,

I was wondering about the drug question as well, my fiance had a ruff childhood and did do drugs in high school, does he have to state this or can he not say anything because he did it as a minor?

I know about the three year ban and am trying to do everything truthfully not to get that but i hear some stories where they dont even care if you do tell the truth

Best overall if beneficiaries never did drugs!

If they ask the question "are you currently taking any drugs?" is it legal to say no, cause he isnt CURRENTLY. Do they do drug testing? cause i keep hearing yes or no i know if he takes urine or blood tesing he will pass, but if they do hair he wont

He will likely be asked if he has ecer used drugs. He WILL be tetsed. The test needs to be negative and it is always best if the applicant can say they never used illegal drugs.

This is a tricky one, because throughout the entire process, honesty is absolutely a priority--and you clearly know that. In this single situation though, concerning the question "have you ever used illegal drugs," if you answer honestly in the affirmative, you will have a headache on your hands, one that seems unnecessary to many people. So I have heard stories that beneficiaries at the medical often opt to answer in the negative to this question, if minor drug use occurred in the distant past and is not any kind of current issue that would show up in tests.

Visa Journey, however, cannot advocate this, and nobody here can recommend this course of action. Capiche?

post suggesting lying to immigration has been removed.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

My fiance had a drug problem a long long time ago, when he was 16 years old. He went to rehab and kicked it the same year and has been clean ever since. We knew his medical records would show his rehabilitation, so he answered yes to this question at the medical. The doctor grilled him about his past, but he was honest (it was over half his life ago and not an issue at all anymore), and she said, "Will you pass a drug test now?" and he said yes, so they gave him a test -- urine, not hair. He passed, and the doctor thanked him for being honest.

If it was a long time ago and he can pass a urine test now, I don't think it could hurt you to be honest. That's how we handled it, at least. Hope this helps give you some hope.

Update: I managed to get ahold of his records, he was caught under the influence in high school, he go a citation, what now, im screwed

Here is link about this from an attorney who deals with this type of issue;

Drug USE Admission at Medical

Here is the concern, it apparently in his case is not "past behavior" that happened a long time ago. You just said he would not pass a hair test which indicates his drug use is fairly recent. They go by more than just the answers to the questions, if he looks like a druggie, talks, acts or behaves uncomfortably or suspiciously it might be an issue as well. If he has tracks on his arms, etc etc.

So maybe the issue isn't with the medical at all, its with him and perhaps you if you are willing to go to all this trouble for someone who clearly would risk your future together to be messing around with controlled substances at this stage of the game.

No judging just making an observation.

He did it three years ago, also HE WOULDNT HAVE TACKS IN HIS ARMS! He smoked weed. that doesnt make it better but hes done with that

Good, then he should not have to worry about hair test .. assuming he is a guy with relatively short hair. you might want to get an attorney and have him/her give you a run down on how to answer these questions.. sometimes people get nervous and makes things worse. If he is properly prepared for

how to answer it might work out better and he will be less nervous. ..and so will you
