Hi there.. am just finding my way out in this new forum.. Just got thru the consulate stage. I have probably another two months before the POE. Wondering what I could do in the meantime to find an IT job near or around chicago/schaumburg.. Am 4 years experienced dotnet/c# professional..

any info/lead on finding a job there will be so much appreciated..

From what I hear, the market is Chicago is good for IT jobs. I would suggest posting your resume on Monster.com, Dice.com, LinkedIn et.al. asap! Also, since you are a .NET developer, the market is sweet for Sharepoint Developers well versed in .NET! I currently work on a SharePoint implementation team as a Trainer/Analyst and have noticed that the market is wide-open for anyone knowedlgeable for SP or .NET! Good Luck....

I'm a USC but also a .NET developer. The job market for .NET work is better than most areas right now. I have little doubt that you can find work. Utilize headhunters/staffing firms, they have the connections to get your resume in front of a hiring manager, not rejected by some HR software beancounter program.
