Well, the postman just came by and what was in the mail but our NOA 1 with a date of August 16! Yay!!!

Strangely enough - we have not received either email notification or the return slip from USPS yet. Hmm.. anyway .. who cares now?!

This also confirms that we were 'touched' on Saturday. Hope that's a good thing.

Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

2024

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

THE SAGA CONTINUES - IR-5 Story
I-130 for Parents - 2013
Aug ?? - mailed I-130 packages for both mother and father
Sept 10 - NOA1 date
Sept 16 - NOA1s received

2014

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Mar 20 - N-400 receipt date for my father
2021
Apr 21 - Biometrics appt.

2022
May 2 - Interview

May 20 - Naturalization ceremony

I wonder how important "touches" really are? I read recently about someone who went through the whole I-129F Process and were approved and they were never "touched". And then I read about people like yourself who get their NOA1 on one day and just a couple of days later they're "touched". Not sure if getting touched is good or not. But if it makes someone feel better about their petition because they get touched alot, then that's great. But in some cases it can make you worry alot or feel bad because your petition is never touched. The explanation that was given to me was that "touches" mean that someone at USCIS has done something to your petition.. read it, moved it, checked it, etc. That's good that someone has done something to it. But how does someone get their petition approved and yet never show even one touch? Strange. :unsure:

Strange about not geting the return card, You did send package certified mail? About email, you wont get messages from USCIS untill you sign up and you will need the case number that is on NOA1 inorder to sign up for the notifications.

Yup we signed up on the site about three nanoseconds after we received the EAC number from the back of the cheque. I figure that it's because we signed up on Saturday (the 19th) and the NOA date was actually the 16th, that they just did not send retroactive emails. C'est la vie!

As for the touches being good or bad? How about I sign up for the 'never get touched' section and they just approve us in hmmm... 10 days. All in favour?

Congratulations on getting your NOA1, Monique! Now the real waiting begins, of course, but it feels good just to know that darned thing is in the right building now, doesn't it? :):):)

January 2004: Met Laurent at the Bibliothèque nationale in Paris

February 2004: We became an actual couple

January 29th, 2006: I left France to return to the United States--AWFUL to say goodbye!

June 2006: Finally convinced Laurent that a K-1 visa would be more time-effective than trying to get an H-1

August 1st, 2006: The K-1 petition is finally in the mail and on its way to Nebraska...WooHoooo!! And yes, I remembered to attach the check! :-)

August 3rd, 2006: USPS online tracking shows that my petition (sent certified) was received at the NSC at 5:05am

August 14th, 2006: NOA1 received USPS!! (I-129F recv'd at CSC: 8/4; NOA date: 8/10; last touched: 8/11)

October 2nd, 2006: I MISTAKENLY thought we had an approval...False alarm...Back to waiting...

October 3rd, 2006: TOUCHED!!

October 4th, 2006: REALLY AND TRULY APPROVED!!! Email notification lists 10/3 as the NOA2 date.

Later that same day: TOUCHED...AGAIN! Hope that means I'm in a cozy box and moving to NVC this week...

October 10th, 2006: Received official NOA2 via snail mail.

October 19th, 2006: Case received at NVC!! AWESOME!!

October 20th, 2006: Case forwarded to Paris!! DHL says two shipments were headed that way. Must be in there somewhere...

October 27th, 2006: Received official receipt letter from NVC via USPS.
